TTC my first child on Clomid
I'm 23 and trying to have my first child. I recently found out that I do not ovulate. I had to take 9 days of Provera to actually start my period and now I started my first day of Clomid. I am very excited but I don't know what to expect. What are the odds of getting pregnant the first month? I am kind of scared and nervous about the whole ordeal and I guess I am just seeking some support. Thanks, Miranda

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
If the 50mg makes you o then I'm sure you could get preggo one the first try.
Do you never ovulate or do you off and on?

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
Well, every since I started my cycle I was always irregular (12 yrs old) and then at 17 I went on birth control and would still skip my cycle months at a time. And my cycle is like 1 or 2 days very light. So when my husband and I started TTC 3 months ago I figured I needed to go to the doctor and make sure I could get pregnant and that is when he told me that I don't ovulate. So I had to take the drug Provera to start my cycle since I hadn't had one is 2 1/2 months. I hope nothing else is wrong with me! I took my first 50 mg of Clomid yesterday and I woke up in the middle of the night cramping. 4 more days to go.

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
I am trying to conceive my first as well, although I am a decade older than you! This is my first round of clomid. I am on day 3 of 100mg and so far there really aren't too many side effects. Just a little jittery maybe.

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
I don't ovulate on my own either (however I seem to get periods more frequently than you do). I got pg the 2nd cycle on 50 mg the first time & the first cycle the second time we tried it. So it can happen pretty quick, but don't be discouraged if it doesn't. Hopefully your Dr. will monitor things well so you can tell if it is working. If you are charting, that helps a lot & then ask your Dr. for a progesterone check late in your cycle to confirm you O'd. Good luck!

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
I get my progesterone checked on the 21st day which will be Sept 28th. I am on my second day and my Dr. didn't say anything about charting I just have to take Clomid days 5-9 and ttc on days 12, 14, 16, and 18 of my cycle. Can I have intercourse after those days or am I only fertile those 4?
Good Luck to everyone!
Thanks for all the support!

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
Charting helps pin down when you o.
You want the spermies there waiting for the egg as apose to the other way around.

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
Can I still chart if I don't have a regular cycle? I never know when my cycle is. And thank you, I think this is a wonderful site. I am so new to all of this and wish everyone loads of luck and fertility.

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
ABSOLUTELY!!! Charting is great for irregular cy cause your LP is usually about the same (maybe a day or 2 off) each month, so once you O (and you know you have o'ed by 3 consecutive days of high temps over your cover line) you will know when you should start or POAS!!!
There is a board on here called charting and there is charting basics on there take a look!!!!

Day Three on Clomid 50mg. I am so tired all the time!!! Is this a normal side effect. I also have cramping and urinating a lot more.

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
Welcome Miranda,
I am here all the time but I need to post more often! I've been through 3 rounds of clomid on 50mg. My side effects were crazy hot flashes!!! But I started charting on my second time around. My doc told me the same thing to BD everyother day starting on day 12. After my first round and lots of reading on this sight I found out that I didn't O untill later on in my cycle. I O untill around day 20. The first round I did the OPK, but I found out that they can give you a false positive early in your cycle if you are on clomid. So I got this nifty microscope at the drug store and you look at your dry saliva. When you O or about to your saliva has a fern like pattern... Its the coolest thing. The one I got was Maybe MOM mini microscope, and every morning I look at my dried saliva before I eat or drink anything. I do this along with charting my temps. I wish you all the luck and hope a BFP comes soon for you!!!

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
Thanks so much. You all have been great! None of the drugstores had a microscope ovulation predictor so I ordered one from the internet! Thanks for all the great ideas!

Re: TTC my first child on Clomid
Well, today is cd12 and time to do the bd. I am still cramping and took an ovulation test and says I'm not ovulating but going to do the bd anyway, just in case. My sister had a dream I would have twins but I am just hoping for a healthy baby. Well, hope everyone else is doing well.
Later,
Miranda
