PCOS & possilbe candidate for Clomid/metformin
Hi Ladies,
Over the past year I have been floating from IVF, to OPK, to DID, to Miscarriage, and now I have arrived here. The quick run down is in my sig............I am very very cyst prone. I had them as a teenager, then when I was pregnant with my son....pretty much any time I am off BC or pregnant. During my miscarried pregnancy my doc found another cyst on my left ovary this time.
I had surgery in Feb 07 to remove a calcification and two cysts on my ovary along with a 1/3 wedge ressection. My doctor sent me for all bloodwork relating to PCOS, and determined that I am just polycystic, but my blood work showed no elevations that would warrant Metformin or Glucophage at the time. Also I ovulate, I got pregnant with my son in '03 with no problem.
But, the cycle I got pregnant, I used the Clearblue Easy Ovulation Monitor, It showed me ovulating on day 17/18, kind of late???? Is it true that late ovulators have an increased risk for miscarriage???
I go for my D&C followup this Thursday, and wonder should I mention that I want to try the metformin/clomid(i read on line that it helps for late ovulators)????
Or just try again on my own without any meds???? anyone have an experience with PCOS and late ovulation similar to this???
Thanks, I look forward to chatting with you ladies!
