Default Newbee to Clomid!

Hi Everyone!
My name is Alisha and my husband and I got married September 2006. We have been TTC now for 16mos and I just started my first round of 50mg Clomid cd3-7. I have to say...I am glad I found you all! I have spent the last hour reading through all the threads and it has helped calm my anxiety over taking Clomid and the side effects. I do have a question. My cycles vary from 28dc to 58ds, sometimes longer. For example, I just start AF on Sunday, ending a 58dc. My ob suggested a ovulation tester a few months ago and the first day I used it, it showed an LH surge. I used it for four days and each day the ovulation tester showed the same thing. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, most of you seem to use an ovulation tester with Clomid, should I try it again? I'm just hesitant since it did nothing for me in the past. If so, could someone please reccomend a brand that is easy to use or that has at least proved to be accurate? I really appreciate the help. Thanks all!

Default Re: Newbee to Clomid!

I have long cycles, and from what I can gather you should start to test three days after your last clomid pill. I use the answer brand of OPK and find that it works well for me. I have not taken Clomid before this cycle, but I believe that because they are introducing the hormone in the body that you should ovulate in the following ten days after your last pill. (Someone correct me if this info is wrong!!)

I know that my friend that found out she was PG two months ago on Clomid had long cycles, too...and she found that she ovulated around day 15.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for responding Coral. Wonderful! Hopefully the Opk will work for me this time, we'll see. =)
