Hi everyone!

I'm Michelle (39, will be 40 gulp, in about 3 weeks) and DH is 38. We have been TTC #1 for over a year. We did conceive in April, and m/c in June. Our fertility specialist has diagnosed 'secondary infertility' (meaning - 'who knows why you aren't pregnant, you just aren't').
TONIGHT I start Clomid - and I am a little worried about some of the side effects - poor DH - he'll have to be a saint to put up with me, I'm sure. I'm starting on 100mg a day (CD3-7).
Has anyone started on this dose before? What have been your side effects?
If the Clomid doesn't work within 3 cycles, we are taking a 2 cycle break, then Clomid with IUI.

The side effects may not be as bad as you expect them to be. This is my third month with clomid and the only real sx I am having is that it seems at about noon I get very agitated, or weepy. But I try to remember I am on it and ride it out.

Some people have more or less sx so it will be hard to tell how you will react to it.

I also think that it is a build up kind of thing. You take it the first month...not too bad, second month little bit of sx, third month more and so on. So hopefully you will get you soon so you dont get to

Patty is right...your s/e will be worse probably the first or second month and then it will taper off a bit.

One thing I do is take the meds at night to sleep off a lot of those s/e. I do get night sweats, though...I think that's the worse s/e for me.

Hi Michelle, I'm new here also. I am almost 35 and DH is 39. We have been TTC #1 for almost 2 years now. Just started my first cycle of Clomid 50 mg last week. S/E for me has only been hat flashes and night sweats. I did O on Saturday but now I have light brown spotting. Don't know if that is good or bad. My DH has been a real trooper about all of this. Hello! I am new also. I was on my first round of Clomid this cycle at 50 mg on day 5-9. I really didn't have too bad of a time taking it. Had a few nights of hot flashes, but the big thing was I , HARD, on an eposide of House. My DH, love him to death, at me. I didn't find it funny then, but now it is. I wish you the best of luck.
