I should be an expert but I am not. I have PCOS and my understanding is that it is linked to High testosterone levels. I believe that clomid increases estrogen levels so it would make sense that you doctor put you on that. I have been on clomid 3 different times, the first time I got pregnant after 4 months on it, I now have a 2 year old daughter. Early last year I was on it for 6 months and nothing, and now I am on it for my second month this time around. I know that if effects everyone differently. For me, I have a really difficult time on it. Not the first couple days but after a couple of days and then for the rest of the month. I get reallly nausiated, in the afternoons ( I am also on Metformin which might be a contributing factor). I also get hot flashes, and really bloated. I have heard of some people who have absolutely no side effects though, so good luck! I should also mention I am on a high dose 150mg.

thanks for the reply they were going to put me on Metformin but they said i needed to be carefull with it because i am so thin that it can actually cause me to loose weight and they do not want that so they put me on clomid. i dont have psoc i have always had normal periods neve missed a period never been on birth control or anything, i did start puberit late.... but now that i found out that my testosterone is high im wondering is that the reason i can not get pregnant?

Hi
I have mild PCOS (I don't ovulate on my own) so I have needed to take Clomid before for my second daughter. First daughter conceived on the pill. I only had to take 50 mg of Clomid for 1 month and BAM we were pregnant so obviously it worked very well for us. I have heard of many ladies talking about horrible side effects but I was very fortunate to not have a single one. I have to take the pill regularly to even get a period but plan to go off of it towards the end of July this summer and start Clomid in August to conceive baby #3. For pretty much since I started having periods they have been very irregular and I don't ovulate regularly which obviously is a problem when we want to have another baby. With Clomid there is a higher risk of twins, too so keep that in mind.

I was on 75 mg of clomid cd 6-10...I was starting to give up hope and get depressed, then the 3rd time it worked (with IUI). Keep your chin up...Good luck to you; I know your pain. I have high test levels too...
