Default My last cycle of clomid, forever!!!

Sounds ominous, doesn't it! I had a RE appt on Friday and she asked me if I was having any side effects on 150mg. I told her oddly enough I was having less than I felt on 100mg, although the visual stuff was bothering me. She stopped in her tracks, so I knew I should elaborate and maybe this was a problem. I told her I was seeing color tracers and she immediately said "well, you're done with clomid". I asked if that meant we were done for now, or we were done for ttc#1 and we could try again with #2 or #3 (gotta have hope that we will do this more than once!). She said that she wouldn't perscribe it to me at any time in the future, for any future pregnancies. She said somebody else might but I should mention the side effects I was having. So I guess when we go back for #2 we will go straight to injectibles.

Now for the good news, I had a 24mm follie in my left ovary, so we triggered at the office, and DH and I dtd Friday and Saturday. I was laying in bed last night at 11:30, waiting to go to sleep and I'm pretty sure I felt when it came out! I felt some sharp pulling, then kind of a warm irritation. Then the pressure I had been feeling was gone! So that was kinda exciting. We had dtd 2 hours and ~24 hours before, so I think all our bases are covered. Next cycle I'm having a HSG, then we are doing injectibles and a IUI (if necessary).

Really she took you off clomid because of the visual side effects? now i'm worried. I get them to, but its not colors that i see its tracers, everything has black lines and when i move around my soundings all get tracers. But it only seems to happen in low light at night, not during the day at all.

My doctor hasnt even seen me since i was prescribed clomid. This is my third round. The first round i had a miscarriage, the second round didn't work and now i'm waiting to find out for round 3. I think i will call my doctor tomorrow and let her know about my side effects. i hope it dosent mean if i get pregnant my baby could me effected by it.

Amanda - yeah, I didn't know that the visual side effects were that big of a deal. I mean, I knew they were a possibility, but didn't think she would take me off it because of them. I would definitely call your doc tomorrow and let them know that you are having them. Are you taking the clomid right now or are you done with it and waiting to O/in the 2ww? If you have to do another cycle of treatments, your doc may decide to send you to a RE for follow-up.

I don't think there is any danger to the baby from the side effects. I think the concern is more of the effect is has on you.

GL, I hope this one is it for you!
