Icon5 Maybe you can offer support?

If Santa Claus was real then I would ask him for a baby this Christmas. Since he isn't real I think I will ask my gynecologist for clomid instead.

Hello Ladies!

I'm new here, but my struggle with TTC and PCOS isn't. My prior gyne's ambivalent attitude has forced me to seek out another MD. I have an appointment with her on this Thursday and I'm going in there with the hopes that she will put me on clomid.

My husband and I have been TTC for over a year. I can't believe after all those years of trying to not get pregnant I am now realizing I had little to worry about in the first place.

From all the stress of not being able to get pregnant while all my friends get pregnant I need to vent. I need to know I'm not the only one out there. I need to know that through your success stories I can hope for the same thing.

Please tell me how you were able to get started on Clomid? How many cycles and on what dose did it take to work? Would you recommend it?

Anything, even an acknowledgement of my post would help make my day better!

Baby dust to all

xo.

Hey EAB!! I, too, have PCOS and am on both Metformin and Clomid for it. I am currently on my 2nd cycle of Clomid, 50 mg on days 5-9. I am having a crazy long cycle--think I might be preggers but no BFP (Big Fat Positive) yet... My doc knew I had PCOS so started me on the Clomid right away. I'd been taking the Metformin for a few months before that, to give me regular cycles( I don't ovulate without it...I need extra help!!). I don't know if the Clomid is going to do the trick for me, but a lot of women here have gotten positive results from it!!! Good luck and welcome welcome! Feel free to ask me any ?s you might have and I'll TRY to help you out!!

Hello and welcome!

I'm a big fan of clomid. Last time dh and I were TTC, it took us 16 cycles to get that BFP. On the 16th cycle I was prescribed 50 mg of clomid by my OB. We got preggo the very first try on clomid! So, it worked perfectly for us.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you get that BFP soon!

Hey!

Thanks for replying to my post...

YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED!

After MONTHS of not getting a period I got it yesterday. I'm nervous now that my MD won't perscribe clomid because I spontaneously ovulated. IDK how that is possible though because I use the ClearBlue fertility monitor and it never detected a surge.

Ok, so great my body had one period but is this going to ruin my chances for clomid?

If you guys have any answers please let me know. I'm so happy that clomid worked for you.

THERE IS HOPE!

Hey, I don't think that will hurt your chances of getting the Clomid at all. One period will not count you out. Having PCOS, your dr will know that you have very few periods a year and those might not even be where you are actually ovulating, from what I've heard. That was the case with me anyway...I'd have one every 8-9 months or so and it would be TERRIBLE...long and gross. So, I think you will still get the Clomid!!!

Hi EAB and welcome! You are certainly not alone in this and we have several success stories on this board...so there is hope!! I did get pregnant two months ago on clomid, it was my second round, unfortunately it didn't stick and I MC. The fact that I DID get pregnant gives me hope.

I really don't think that your just having a period will interfere with your doctor giving you clomid. I have a period every 28 days and am on clomid. I have a problem with a short LP.

One year of trying on your own is certainly long enough. Your doctor needs to help you in some way. Good luck at your appointment on Thursday, let us know how it goes.

Hi EAB

I'm going to go the brash route here and say: Tell your doctor you want Clomid. Don't ask.
That's what I did.

I wasn't pregnant after 6 months, got annoyed, went to my doctor, told her I wanted to be pregnant yesterday, and 3 days after my next period started, she had me popping some Clomid pills!

Sure, it needed to be bumped up to 150mg, but I was glad that I found that out sooner than later-we could've kept trying without an aid, but every month that went by, I saw as a waste.

Lots and LOTS of baby dust to you!!! Get that Clomid!!

50mg Clomid -----> no ovulation, so

150mg Clomid ------> + OPK, but again,

2nd round of 150 mg of Clomid!
