Hi I have a question. I have been off the depo shot for a year and I have been ttc ever since. I recently started taking clomid. Now the instructions say to either take the clomid on cycle days 5-9 or days 3-7. Now I only get a 3 day period, and its always been that way...so i've been just taking the clomid on the last day of my period and for five days. Is this why the clomid hasn't been working for me??? Should I take the clomid on the 1st day of my period???

You should take it on cycle day 3 or cycle day 5, not when your period stops.

How many clomid cycles have you done? Is your doctor monitoring you? Are you ovulating on it?

Nancy is right take the Clomid on cd3 or cd5, not when your period stops.
You definately wouldn't want to take in on cd1.

Taking Clomid on cd3-7 will produce more follies.
Taking Clomid on cd5-9 will produce less follies, but better quanity.

This cycle would be my 2nd cycle using it. My doctor talked to me about clomid and a few other medications. We agreed to try clomid 1st, so he gave me a script for enough for 6 cycles, and instructions, and told me to use opk. He told me that if they didn't make me o within the 1st three cycles to give him a call to set up another appt, and if it did then to use it for the 6 cycles unless i got preggo in between. He told me that if it didn't work within the 6 cycles then we'd talk about the next step. Now the instructions say to start it day 3 or day 5. Isn't the 1st day of your cycle the 1st day of your period??? So cycle day 3 wouldbe the 3rd day of your period correct???

Yes, you are correct. Cd1 is the first day of red flow. I thought you were questioning if that was the problem, that you weren't taking it on cd 1.

Clomid can have some negative affects on lining and cm. I'm not sure why some doctors don't monitor things.
