HELLO ALL,
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had a HSG test. I go in mext Friday and was wondering what to expect?!

I had it and I was REALLY nervous about it. It turned out to be really no big deal. It's just kinda icky afterward. You also may experience some cramping. Some women cramp while it is happening and some after.

The freakiest part is when the dr had me laying there with what seemed like a drawer full of tools in me and then they have you turn on your side...YIKES!!!

i know it is easier said then done but the best thing is to try to stay relaxed.

I think most people just experience a little cramping afterward & take some advil/tylenol or something beforehand to help. I had one that kinda hurt when they put the cathedar in, but I have had 2 similar procedures since and didn't feel a thing when they put it in. The cramping afterward wasn't bad.

The good thing is that you will know things are all clear, and it may even help clear out any minor blockages that were there. Good luck!

Mine wasn't bad at all. I actually went to work right afterwards. I was just a little crampy the rest of the day. Make sure to wear a pad and take some advil/tylenol.

Just had mine 2 wks ago. I was scared..heard some
uncomfortable stories. I took 2 Ibuprofens and one
xanax ( left behind from back injury)......but the key
was my dr was a DOLL.....I did feel cramping and pressure
but he stopped 2x when I asked (he told me to let him
know if I needed a break)
he pushed the dye slowly which I think helped...he was gentle.
When I said I had enough he was through...
I had some cramping afterwards but all in all it went well
for me... Try to relax (easier said but it really helps)
I tried to picture myself back in Hawaii.....

Well looks like everything is clear!!! The procedure wasn't bad at all, little cramping, but when it comes to pain I am a wimp!!!

Thank you all for all of your responses. Not sure where i'm going from here, I already did three months on 50mg clomid. I really want to get started again!!! I've got baby fever pretty bad... all I want is to start my own family, I'm sure all of you can relate.

Christina...I was told that you are very fertile for the next 3 cycles after an HSG! I got pg the cycle after my HSG (but sadly it ended in an m/c) and a contribute a lot of the success of the to the HSG. HTH!
