How many cycles of clomid have your doctors had you do without a break? I have done 8 cycles of clomid 100mg with injectibles. 3 cycles were cancelled (1 for poor response and 2 for overstimming), so we have had 5 tries. The doc said they usually do 6 months of a protocol that is making yu rovulate regularly, then reassess. He doens't seem to have a max number of cycles on Clomid in mind though and hasn't suggested taking a break.

My OB was very "giving" as far as Clomid goes...I tried about 8 cycles total over the past year (give or take a couple cycles I sat out for the m/c and the Laparascopy).

My RE on the other hand says that Clomid is a horrible drug and shouldn't be used too long. He said my ovaries were "shot" from the Clomid use so now I'm on to injectibles and IVF.

You've done 8 clomid/injectible combos? If so, why not just injectibles? I know it's less expensive to put clomid into the mix, but I'd think there's less control over response to some degree when using it. Also, the negative s/e's of it begin to work against you.

I did my share of clomid cycles long before my ivf cycles, mostly because we werent prepared to move on to more aggressive measures. After awhile my body wasn't responding consistently. I only did one round of injectibles before ivf due to a missed dx of male factor was an issue.

If you have the option to use just injectibles then I would. What has your doctor said about your diagnosis?

Reese is so cute! It's been a while since I saw a post from you. I'm hoping that your bfp for #2 comes real soon. My RE won't allow more than 6 cycles of Clomid. After that he recommends straight injectibles. In our case we did 3 cycles of Clomid and then he moved us right to injectibles, then onto IVF. I hope they find the right combo of drugs for you soon. I'm sorry I'm not too much help. Clomid worked for me the first time after 3 tries. Unfortunately, that was the m/c. Then it worked on the first round to get Bradley. I know, not much help.

But I had to tell you that Reese looks so big!! Good luck with #2!

I took 50mg clomid for 4 cycles on days 3-7, and I am now pregnant.

Emmelin! Hi. Its been a long time. I remember you from way back when! (when the boards switched locations I went from divibabe to divibaby and it didn't take all my old posts with me, but I've been here since 2003).

I did 3 rounds of clomid alone and then did clomid/injectibles 3 times then moved to IVF. Good luck with #2!

I was on clomid and femara this cycle. My RE mentioned it but didn't say "do it" just a suggestion. Clomid alone never did much for me but the combo really seemed to help. I Od on CD10 vs CD19 and think I might have a BFP in my future.

Just FYI I did 5mg Femara CD1-5 and 100mg Clomid CD3-7

Hi Emmelin I remember you!! Reese is adorable! When I saw the RE before getting preggo with the boys he would not let me do more than 6 cycles with clomid so that is why on my 4th I did IUI and that was the twin ticket!!! Good luck I hope your BFP comes soon!!!
