Default Hi, New to Clomid and to Board

Hi my name is Debbie I'm new to Clomid and to the Board and wanted to say Hi to everyone. Its comforting to read other peoples stories knowing I'm not the only one out there.

This is my second round of Clomid. I was on 50mg for my first cycle, my progesterone was 14.5 not enough to o, didn't get many side effects on first round. I'm now on second round and due for my blood test tomorrow, was increased to 100mg and boy did I feel it this time. For the first 2 weeks of my cycle I was mood swinging bad felt like crying at the drop of a hat and felt highly confused as well.

Mood swings have subsided now just getting headaches every now and then. I'm absolutely dreading if I need to go to 150mg scared of what it will do to me. Does anyone else react like this??

Hi Debbie,

I'm trying 100mg for the first time this month. I didn't have too many problems on 50mg, but I am wary of what I'll feel on 100mg.

Sorry you are having such a rough time! TTC is hard enough as it is without dealing with side effects from medication.

I had a question on trying the second round of clomid. if you guys aren't Oing on the 50mg, how are you starting the next round? Are you taking progesterone to have a withdrawl bleed or what? i always understood you don't have a period w/o Oing... It's frustrating that the whole thing takes so long to start again...

Also, when did you all give up on the previous round? did you wait 28 days or longer, or what?

Thanks!

Hey, I answered your post in the cycle buddies board, but basically you would take provera to jump start the next cycle. Personally, once I don't O by cd21, I start the provera unless I have a scheduling conflict with not wanting AF for some reason.

Sorry didn't really explain myself properly, I have PCOS so non Oing, started on the 50mg clomid had my blood test on the 20th day to monitor my progesterone, on the 38th day I just automaticly got my period, had appointment with the Dr on the second day of my period, progesterone was only 14.5. To O it needs to be over 20 so Dr put me on 100mg, took that from days 3-7. I'm currently on my 23 day waiting to see if it worked have appointment with Dr next week so am crossing fingers. Some girls here say they have U/S as well mid cycle my Dr hasn't sent me for any I wonder if my Dr is doing enough. My Dr gets me to take clomid from days 3-7, bd days 13-17 and then blood test days 20-22 then a week later I see him to get the results of blood test. Is this enough?

Debbie - it sounds like your doctor is having you do about as much as most OBs do. I didn't get any mid-cycle u/s until I saw a RE.

Are you temping or using OPKs? Any way to tell if you O'ed before your appointment next week?

Leese - No not temping or using OPK's but this would be a good question for OB before I contemplate next month if this month didn't work.

I've found the temping and OPK's to be very helpful in knowing what's going on in my body. plus you don't have to worry that way. You can get some cheap OPK's on ebay and a thermometer at your local pharmacy for less than $10. Plus, when you track it on fertility friend, you can put in all sorts of information!

Hi Leese

No unfortunately no O'ed had appointment with GYN today. Progesterone only jumped up to 15 from 14. I had better results when taking Metaformin as well as Clomid it went from 10 to 14 but this month pretty bad. I stopped taking the Metaformin on first month cos I got pretty constipated and felt pretty sick. I'm going to bare with it and take the Metaformin and 100mg of Clomid to see if it makes a difference. If this month doesn't work he is going to send me to a RE, I think I would like someone more hands on to tell u the truth.

Where r u up to at the moment? How is everything going on your end?

Hi Debbielee,
I fell pregnant with my first child 12 years ago after the first month leaving the Pill. Me and my hubby are ttc for the last 10 years.....
Last month I had not medication and had two follicles (18 and 20 mm) and ovulated on time. I had a chemical pregnancy.
This month my fertilty specialist gave me 100mg of clomid and I went for an US today (day 9). She could not find even one! Is it too early? I am so baffled as to how do I produce great follicles on my own and ovulate on time and with medication I don't eaven have one little follicle?
Oh boy, the mood swings and tireness is almost too much to handle!!!!
I am going back within 5 days for another US. Is 9 days too early to check for follicles?
Good luch to you and loads and loads of baby dust from over here in Israel.
