Default Few questions

Hi girls!
I have heard many people say that insurance does not cover infertility treatment. Is that true?
Does that include Clomid?
Also, I know this is REALLY REALLY nosey but about how much does it cost?

About me:
I started charting my cf in january then april, may, june and now july I have been charting using CF and Temps.
All year my LP has been 9, mostly 8 days long. I stopped nursing my son April 28th but before that he was only nursing the last month or so for a couple of times a day for only like 1 minute or 2.
I have been trying b6 and now this cycle I have been using vitex to try to get my lp to lengthen as well as natural progesterone cream.
Now I am at 8 dpo. My temp dropped, I am bloaty and crampy and (tmi) loose bowl movements. And last yesturday I got really tired and went to bed early and slept like a log. All af signs for me.
Usually ill start spotting evening of 8 dpo then the next day its here.

I have read that it takes 2-3 months before you see any improvement with vitex. But I have also read from some ladies that it never does anything for them.
I am at this point going to try vitex for a couple of more cycles to see if there is ANY improvement but I wanted to gather some info about clomid in case it does not work b/c so far nothing seems to be helping.

TIA!

Most insurances do not cover fertility treatments. My, however, did cover clomid for my normal co-pay which is $15. I called and got a price quote beforehand because I thought I would have to pay full price and the generic was about $25 for 5 pills.

My insurance plan did pay for clomid, all I had to pay was a $10 copay. Beyond clomid, I'm not sure what they will pay for, in regards to infertility. Unfortunately, I don't think most plans cover much.

I also have a short LP, about 9 days. I usually o on CD 19-20. My first month on clomid it only lengthened my LP by 1 day. Now on my second month of clomid I just o'd on CD 13...which is awesome! My doctor also added Progesterone during my LP, so we will see what happens!

Good luck to you!!

My insurance also does not cover Clomid. I have done some shopping around though and just got 15 pills at Sam's Club for $42. Wal-Mart may be the same.

Good Luck!!

I just did some calling around too, and Costco has the generic (clomiphene citrate) for only $32 for 10 pills (a one-month supply). The name brand is $50 per pill so that is a huge savings.

Good luck!

My clomid costs were avg with what has been posted, my last dose was 150mg and cost 56.

If you end up on injectables then get them from overseas, local was 150 a vial, US other 100 for 2 vials ( usual daily dose ) and 216 for all from England ( thats 10 vials plus you O shot )

I would check with what your insurance will pay thru your healthplan at you hospital. Private clinic I had ot pay all and here I just pay for procedures.
