Default Considering Clomid

I'm new to the board..considering taking Clomid, but I have some questions maybe you can help with.

Here's the short story: I'm 28, DH Is 32. I stopped taking BCP after 10 years this summer, but have not ovulated on my own since then. Things were always haphazard before BCP, so my OBGYN says I could take Clomid to induce ovulation.

I tried Provera last month to see if I would react to it. Took 5 days of pills and bled after 4 days finishing my pills.

I got a new thermometer and have started recording my BBT. So far nothing too interesting. About 96.7ish every day. (should have already ovulated..but guessing that didn't happen this month..)

Questions:
1. I'm assuming you can't take Clomid until you start a cylce. If you don't ovulate, is that induced by Provera? You consider cd1 the first day of bleeding?

2. I've read online that there can be issues getting individual insurance after taking Clomid. Is that true? (I currently have group ins, so I don't think it's a problem for NOW, but who knows down the road..)

3. I'm not sure what the stats are for success on the 1st round..how have your results been?

We're considering trying this whole process in January but wanted to get some ideas first. Any advice you have to contribute would be great!

Thanks!
-M
