I was put on it becouse of irregular cycles.. should this really help me at putting them back on track? ok ok ok and oneeee more question.. DH and I have just been babydancing every other day (haha we're young lolll) butttttt I read that, that could be the wrong thing to do?? It's common for people to either be told to take it on cd 5-9 or 3-7. Not sure what the difference is, my doctor once mentioned something about cd3-7 working on people that 5-9 didn't work on.

It should help you to ovulate, which would make your cycles regular. If they are irregular right now, it's because your ovulation is irregular. So, clomid should help as long as they figure out the dosage right.

Every other day is usually good if your DH hasn't had a SA yet. If his counts are good, every day would be okay. You might want to do every other day until you get a + or darkening OPK, then hit every day for a couple of days.
HTH, good luck!

Hello. I am starting Clomid this Friday on cycle day 5-9 as well. Not sure of the difference. I started spotting Monday so I am counting that as day 1 like my dr. said to. She said since I am starting Clomid day 5 if I take it a day early it would be OK. Hope it is. When do you start?

The first time i tried clomid, i took it on day 3 to 7. We had sex every day from days 10 to 18 (i think till 18) and i got pregnant. So i guess it depends on what your doctor says. I had a miscarrige at 6.5 weeks. So now i'm taking my second round of clomid, just finished it 3 days ago so now we are starting the baby dance all over again. lol
I'm learning that it must be a preference among OBs to which cycle days you're to start on. This was my first month on Clomid as well, for the same reasons. VERY irregular cycles. She tested my hormone levels and I think everything was OK and since I already have a child she knew it was possible for me to conceive again.
Anyway, I'm not sure if it was you and I who discussed the protocol that I'm on with the Clomid on CD 3-7, then the Estrogen for 4.5 days, all while BD for 10 days after the Estrogen and then starting the Prochieve (Progesterone). She gave me a calendar that lists what meds I'm supposed to take when and when we should BD. Since I've been having issues with my OPKs, I called my OB yesterday and she told me that I should have Od on CD 13. Well, I didn't so she told me not to take the Prochieve until next month....and that they would probably up my dose from 100mg to 150mg. We've been BD every other day too and I figure since nothing is 100% reliable, we're going to do everything we can to somehow time it with O... I've also gathered on here that it does tend to make you have a longer cycle so you might not have Od until later. But who knows....
So, long story short...just keep BD til you can't BD anymore! You'll probably get your BFP soon!! Good luck!!
