Default Clomid producing more than 1 egg??

Hello! I am new to clomid. We are trying IUI this cycle due to MF. The Dr is putting me on clomid 5-9. Will this help produce more eggs???

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks!
Mindy

Not an expert, but I believe clomid results in the ovaries being overstimulated, often resulting in more than one egg in a cycle. This is why there is an increase in the risk of multiple pregnancy.

Thanks! I did some searching online and found the yes - chances are it will increase the number of eggs!

That is what I had thought originally...but wanted to confirme it!

Thanks!

It just depends on one's response. I produced 1 egg on it and I've taken it days 3-7 and 5-9.

Good luck!

Clomid effects estrogen levels. The goal is one egg. Over-stimulation is not the aim, it is a possible side effect. Over-stimulation can result in cysts and some times a life threatening condition. The rate of multiples is between 8-10 percent. As far as what days: 3-5 produce more follies 5-9 produce better quality.

Hi Ladies,

Mindy, yes clomid will make you produce more than one egg depending on your body. I'm new to clomid (and the trigger shot) and I'm on my 3rd cycle of clomid and I'm on my 3rd IUI. This past week my us showed 4 mature follies for the first time. This didn't happen on my 2 previous cycles. I take clomid on days 3-7 and 4 of my follies were mature. My RE said that I'm now responding to the clomid and I'm becoming more fertile. Good luck with TTC.

Mindy...!

My DH has MF, too...lower (but still considered "normal) sperm count/motility.

Are you going to try IUI or just do a few cycles of Clomid first?
