Clomid & Metformin???

Hey all. Looks like I'm back in the group. I've just come back from my doc and he has placed me on prometrium to start AF then has placed me on clomid 100mg for days 3-7 and 1000mg metformin a day. I was just wondering if anyone had success rates on taking metformin and clomid together? I am not insulin resistant nor do I have type 2 diabeties. My insulin was a little elevated. He said that taking metformin wouldn't hurt me and that he knows of many who took that and said that it helped them out with getting preggos along with clomid. He wanted me to go ahead and try it. What do you ladies think? Glad to see alot of those I use to talk to on here graduate. Hopefully I will become a graduate soon myself. Baby dust to all.

Hi there! I am taking 100 mg of Clomid and 1000 mg of Metformin, too. No success story yet, but I'm hoping this will be our month. This is my 3rd month on the clomid/met combo. Good luck to you!!!

I'm only on clomid 50mg. I hope the clomid/met combo works for you!! I have seen several success stories. Good luck

I had clomind day 5-9 and 1000 mg of Merformin and I got pregnant the second cycle with IUI. I am actually trying again and this is my second cycle. This time I think the Metformin is drying me out my eyes and mouth seem really dry, but it is all worth it.

It looks like I am about to start my third round of Clomid and add the Metformin this time. My first round progesterone levels at CD21 with 50 mg were 7.1, so my Dr. upped it to 100 mg, and my levels at CD21 this month were only 0.007!

I've been doing the OPK and got a positive reading on CD20, so I know I O'd late if that was right, but he said that even if I did O, the levels wouldn't be high enough to sustain a pregnancy.

He wants me to start the Metformin immediately and I'm a little worried about the side effects. I haven't had any side effects from the Clomid, so I'm hoping this won't effect me too badly either.

I hope everyone else is having better luck than I am!

Met. and Actos was my magic combination! Something to ask about if Met. doesn't do it's job.

Hey I have a success story now! 100mg of Clomid and 1000mg of Met did the trick for me!!
