Clomid Chatty Thread...Ok, ladies...here is your place to chat!
Ok, ladies...I've been MIA as host since the birth of my son in August (Long story short...after 7 years of TTC, Clomid, IUI, injectibles, and an attempted IVF cycle, Owen was born on 8/21/07 but not without more drama. He spend a couple weeks in the NICU but is now growing and getting bigger each day! I've been MIA from here, trying to adjust to life as a Mom). Many of you I don't recognize but wanted to try to get the board rolling again for all of you currently on Clomid.
Anyway, here's your place to chat and get to know each other! I'll be checking in each day, too, to make sure you don't need anything! If you do, please let me know!
Looking forward to getting to know all of our newbies and would love to hear from any of our grads, too!

Re: Clomid Chatty Thread...Ok, ladies...here is your place to chat!
Ok, first post! I am one of those that likes to stalk these message boards but never really says anything. But I guess since this is the place I am feeling like I can relate most to people I will join in. My story.... well I am ttc # 2. I have a little girl who is two and the light of my life. It took us a year and a half to get pregnant with her. I had developed a pituitary tumor from birth control and finally got pregnant after taking care of that and 4 months of clomid. I feel that she is a miracle and we are looking for another miracle in our life.
We started trying when my daughter was only 8 months. I knew that it would take me a while and that most doctors would not give clomid until you have been trying for 6 months. So we did and nothing happened. I then when on clomid 100 mg for 6 months and nothing. After about a year of trying and me border line loosing it, we decided to go to a well knows specialist in our area that does a knew kind of in vitro that is less evasive and more cost effective. This doctor diagnosed me with PCOS and put me on Metformin 1500 mg. Long story short, the doctor is in jail. So I started at a new place. I love the doctor I am seeing now! She is wonderful but still no luck. She put me on 150 mg clomid days 3-7. 12 day ultrasound came back with 2 perfect follicles on one side, She gave me the trigger shot and I got my hopes up. Only to be crushed two days ago with the onset of AF. So here I am 19 months after we started trying, and starting my second month of clomid (this time around). I am so trying to keep my head up, but I am getting very discouraged. I absolutely hate the way I feel when I am on clomid! All month long I am nauseated I get hot flashes and I am not super fun to be around. So I come to message boards to reassure I am not crazy. I not right?

Re: Clomid Chatty Thread...Ok, ladies...here is your place to chat!
I'm new (both to the board and ttc since it's only been a half year) Clomid makes you feel crazy for sure (at least for me) DH says i'm "crabby" and i'm in the "pants don't fit" bloated category - hah which i guess i could use for an excuse to go shopping.
I went to my obgyn 5 months after going off BC since nothing was happening (and i was completely a normal cycle before BC) so with bw showing nothing wrong with me, he has no issues either she put me on first round clomid. So craziness there, no signs of OV, just 2 4mm cysts and a 3-4 days of bleeding on day 20. So nothing for right now - feb. 1st i get one more US to make sure cysts have gone down and then one more round of clomid before a specialist. Which is worrying me since I'm sure like a lot of people on here, our insurance won't cover anything like that so hopefully the second round works.

Re: Clomid Chatty Thread...Ok, ladies...here is your place to chat!
I am cycling on clomid right now...I ovulated on the 15 and will be taking a pregnancy test on the 1st, I could test earlier, testing too early is pointless to me...I expect my period on the 1st so I figure if I dont get a flow then I should test without being premature about it.
This is my very first time taking clomid. I have been TTC for the past 5 years. Husband and I have been told that we have unexplained infertility. His tests came back normal as did mine. 50 milligrams cycle days 1-5

Me and my huby are ttc for 10 years. I fell pregnant with my son after the first month of going off of the Pill. My fertility specialis started me on 100 mg clomid this month plus ostrofem (to ensure the lining is up to standard when ovulation arrives). Last month I had no medication and I had two large follicles and ovulated. Today I went for an US on day 9 and no follicles could be seen. Is day 9 too early for follicle hunt?

I am on my first round of clomid and I am only on pill #2 and I am already starting to feel some side effects, I am starting to get some really bad headaches as well as feeling sick to my stomach...I am also like Jewel_13 and starting to feel a little crazy and completely "out of it"....it is really wierd!! I wanted to ask u ladies how u tell if u O'd if u aren't temping or doing OPKs.... my gyn told me that I could do an OPK if I wanted but that he would not recommend it b/c they are kind of expensive and not completely accurate, I thought about temping but I was wondering if it is too late for me to start (I am on CD6)
good luck 2 all of u!!!

Re: Clomid Chatty Thread...Ok, ladies...here is your place to chat!
Hi I'm Kara and Clomid has been successful for me. I have mild PCOS and to ttc #2 we took 50 mg Clomid and conceived the VERY FIRST month. First baby conceived on the pill. We're starting to ttc baby #3 beginning of August using 50 mg again hoping to have success like last time. I also have a fertility monitor which helps me tremendously to track my cycles. I had absolutely NO side effects from Clomid. We are actually not trying not preventing now but with my non ovulation issues I'm not expecting it to happen before we try the Clomid. August can't get here quick enough. My doc is trying me on 50 mg Clomid for 3-4 months and if not pregnant she said to call her and she'll up dosage to 100 mg. She has no reason to think my body won't respond as well as it did last time to the 50 mg. Look forward to getting to know all of you

It is not too late to start temping. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. I was amazed at what I didn't know about my own body and I had been TTC for years! IMO, it should be required reading for all women of childbearing age.

Re: Clomid Chatty Thread...Ok, ladies...here is your place to chat!
I just wanted to add: I do OPKs in conjunction with my temping. OPKs show you when you are about to ovulate and temping confirms ovulation. Sometimes the body will try to ovulate and you will get a + OPK, but then for whatever reason, it doesn't manage to O, then your temps will stay low.

I am on my last day of provera, so.. starting the clomid on days 5-9. Hopefully it will work this time! I bought the clearblue easy off ebay because my doctor suggested that I not go without it- strongly suggested only clearblue easy. (maybe since I have PCOS?? idk) Im not wasting any more time than I already have. I dont care how much it costs, my time is worth more than money imo! Many of them on ebay that are slightly used only cost around $80, which is super cheap considering Walgreens charges around $220. Anyways just waiting for the big to come for now! Good luck you guys!

You'll really LOVE the fertility monitor! I have one and we got our BFP the first month of using it and 50 mg Clomid. It's also super easy to use. Good luck and lots of baby dust to you

i am finished with my second round of clomid, 100mg days 3-7. lets see this go round i had insomnia, hot flashes and all i wanted to do was cry. my husband and i have been ttc to for one year with no luck. in April we went to my ob-gyn to see what was up. semen analysis was fine. day 3 fsh and day 21 progesterone normal, had a hsg was normal. so really there is nothing wrong with us. according to opk i o'd today so hopefully this is the month. fingers crossed. but i am not getting my hopes up. thanks for all your inspiring stories and support, it makes me feel like im not alone.
