Icon5 Breastfeeding and Clomid

Hi Everyone:
I am Judi and I am BF my 20 months old son. I have been TTC since I had a MC in January. I haven't had any luck. I am weaning my son but he will not be completely weaned by the time next cycle comes around. My OB and Ped both say to ask the other is it is OK to BF and take Clomid. Has anyone taken Clomid and nursed?
TIA
Judi

...Hi, Judi!

Sorry to say but I don't have any info on :bf and Clomid. Have you done any research on the internet? It seems like both dr.'s are afraid to say for sure.

Anyone have an info about this they want to share?

from personal experiance I know I didnt o or even have a cycle when I was bf. Are they wanting to precribe it to induce o. IMHO I think it would be best to stop bf then see how things go, unless they are giving it to you for some other reason. The info included in my box of pills states

Nursing mothers:
It is not know wheater clomiPHENE citrate is excreated in human milk.Because many drugs are excreated in human milk, caution should be exercised if clomiPHENE citrate is administered to a nursing woman. In some patients clomiPHENE citrate may reduce lactation.

I have had AF since 7mo PP. I was able to get pregnant last December but unfortunatetly had a MC in January. Since my MC my cycles have been very erratic. They have just gotten to about 34 days the last 2 cycles.

I am 39 (40 in January). I'm sure my age has something to do with strating clomid. Why would you wait on taking Clomid?

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer this and tell me what the package insert says.

:thanks

Hi Judi! I personnally wouldn't bf and take clomid. I know what it did to me and I wouldn't want my little one exposed to it.You're probably better off letting Connor wean and then try it. It does suck to feel like you're not moving forward this cycle though. Promise I'm not stalking you. I come to check the grads thread. Just happened to see your post. Good luck!
