Anyone temping while on Clomid?
This is my first round of Clomid so this is all new to me. I've been temping for two years. I notice this month that my pre-ovulatory temps are really high, more like my post-ovulatory temps would be. I assume this is caused by the clomid? I haven't ever had temps like this before. But what it makes me question is... is this going to mess up my cycle somehow, or am I going to see a thermal shift after ovulation, just like normal, but the temps are going to be really, really high since they're already high before the shift?
I'm a little nervous that this is just going to mess up my cycle really bad and set me back further. Thanks for any advice or info.

Re: Anyone temping while on Clomid?
Hi Christine! I am temping while taking Clomid, and my temps have been nuts this cycle! I've read that Clomid makes your pre-o temps higher, so that's normal at least. Fertility Friend hasn't pinpointed my ovulation yet, but I don't know if that's due to the Clomid or b/c I have a crummy thermometer. Good luck to you!!!

Re: Anyone temping while on Clomid?
Sarah! Thanks for the info. I actually found that on a search online after I posted the question here. I also found out that you should count your first day of Clomid as cd1 (even though it was really cd5) and you can expect to ovulate about 7-10 days after you finish the course. I didn't know that! So glad I found it so I know when to be expecting ovulation.
Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you in case you didn't know it either. Good luck to you!

Re: Anyone temping while on Clomid?
I was instructed to take the clomid on CD 3. Wonder why some do it on different CD's?
Instead of temping, I do the OPK's. Doc told me to start doing them on CD 9 until I get a positive OPK. It worked perfectly when we were TTC baby #4...just one try and it worked.

Re: Anyone temping while on Clomid?
my pre-O temps were smooth and flat, really unlike me and much higher than they normally were. my post -O temps were higher than normal as well. But I could still see a clearly defined shift.
Lisa, I've read that the dates a doc orders Clomid depends on the goal. Days 3-7 are aimed at producing more eggs whereas 5-9 are to produce better quality eggs.

Re: Anyone temping while on Clomid?
I also temp on Clomid - they were a bit high, but not really. I don't seem to be ovulating, though . . . I thought I would O earlier on Clomid, but it isn't looking good so far.

Re: Anyone temping while on Clomid?
So I started temping over the last month and my temps are all over the place.
How do you get a base line? They go up and down every day. I have been taking my temp when I first wake up. I don't even get our of bed just roll. I had read that's the best way to take it.
Is that right?

Re: Anyone temping while on Clomid?
Sheena, I don't know much about temping, but I wanted to stop in and say hi. Hopefully Tkeys or Sarah can answere your question. You may want to post it over on the TTC Cycle Buddies board. That board is much more active than this one.
