Default Anyone on Clomid for long cycles?

Hi. My name is Christine and I am the mother of three-year-old twin boys (conceived naturally--lucky first try!). I have been off bc for 3 years now and TTC #3 with OPKs for 9 months with no luck. Dh has been tested for sperm count and the results were normal.

My OB thinks that I need Clomid to get pregnant. Even though it appears I am ovulating (because I get positive OPKs), its a late ovulation (my cycles are 32-42 days long, sometimes up to 58 days or so) and from what I have been reading, late ovulation is associated with lower quality eggs, a deteriorating uterine lining and other issues that result in lower fertility.

Anyway, is anyone else in the same situation as me? Any advice, tips, input, experience to share? I am going to try one more cycle naturally, and if that doesn't work, then start Clomid in Dec/Jan. Thanks for listening.

I just got my Clomid script today, first round of it. Husband and I have been TTC traditionally for 2 years, and I had 2 conceptions in the last two years, neither worked out. One ectopic and one miscarriage. My cycles are 40-60 days, and so they suggested Clomid. I have been told that my unexplained miscarriage might have something to do with late-cycle eggs.

I was on for a LP defect but I ovulated later and my cycles were about 33 days but with really short Luteal Phases and clomid got me ovulating around 14-15!! Good luck
