Default Anybody know if Clomid can cause tumors

I have a friend on Clomid for several cycles and now has a tumor on one of her ovaries that just had to be removed. Any relation, anybody know?

Here are parts of 2 different atticals I found online. HTH

Several years ago, there research findings were reported stating that Clomid increased a woman's chance of getting cervical cancer. The data associated with that study have since been found to be flawed, and many physicians discredit the researchers' conclusions. However, if you have concerns, talk to your physician about them.

Patients on prolonged CLOMID therapy may show elevated serum levels of desmosterol. This is most likely due to a direct interference with cholesterol synthesis. However, the serum sterols in patients receiving the recommended dose of CLOMID are not significantly altered. Ovarian cancer has been infrequently reported in patients who have received fertility drugs. Infertility is a primary risk factor for ovarian cancer; however, epidemiology data suggest that prolonged use of clomiphene may increase the risk of a borderline or invasive ovarian tumor.
