back home!
Hello girls! Happy Birthday to all the Hot Tots who have celebrated so far Well, we're back home and all is well I couldn't have been more happy and proud of Sarah on the car trip. She was fantastic! I think she watched enough Elmo and Backyardigans to last her a couple of years though (well, okay...maybe until we travel at Christmastime ). It's hard because she's too young to really play "car games" that I remember playing with my mom during car trips (like I spy, simon says, and license plate games). The DVD player kept her occupied so DVD player it was. The only problem was had was a post-antibiotics blowout diaper. It's good to be home though. We had a wonderful time at the beach and DH and I had the night to ourselves on 4th of July (MIL took Sarah back to her house with her) so we went to dinner and went on the beach and watched the fireworks. I think we were asleep by 10:30...how pathetic is that??!!
We came home to some sad news. The little girl of a friend of ours was in a 4-wheeler accident on 4th of July and had to have emergency brain surgery. She fractured her skull and a piece of it got lodged in her brain. She was life flighted to the Children's Hospital and her mommy wasn't able to go with her on the helicopter (the little girl is 4). I was shocked when she told me that. My friend was told that Julia would either die in surgery or have major brain damage. The amazing little girl came through and is now walking and talking and went home today. Isn't that a miracle??!! It has just really hit home and made me think about my priorities.
Anyways, sorry this turned into a novel. I'm going to share some pictures on another thread.
