Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting to one of these forums and ultimately I am just hoping to learn of other peoples experiences in reference to my own, and quite frankly to vent. My husband and I decided not to share any of this with our families becasue their are no grandchild on either side and are parents are desperate for us to have a child. We do not want to hurt them with all of this but I need to talk about it so I dont go crazy. So here I am and here is our story.

My husband and I have been TTC for 6 months. He is 37. We just found out he has two substantial varicocele's, one on the left and one on the right.

His sperm count was 12mill and his motility was 41%. The doctor suggested surgery, which we scheduled for the end of September. I asked if I should get checked out first to make sure I do not have any problems to add to this equation. I am nervous as is my husband, but the urologist said that it would increase are chances of natural pregnancy by 50% and our chances of an aritficial insementation treatment resulting in pregnancy 10 fold. He said he thought having me go through testing was silly because he thinks my husband needs this surgery regardless of the results.
Has anyone had any success actually getting pregnant after a varicocele surgery?
