Default A question for the ladies

Hi ladies,
I have posted here a few times, but mostly just lurk. But I had a question. My ttc problen is mf, and my dh was diagnosed with a varicocele. He had surgery to correct it on Nov 30. We have been ttc since then. I dont know if at improved his counts or not because the next sa is on Jan 24. I used opk and had a surge and we bd around the time so...But now I am 6dpo and have been having cramping like af is going to show. Its heavy cramping and Im not due a visit from af yet. I dont remember this with my other pregnacy, and was wondering if this could be implantation or something. These days I ALWAYS have all the symptoms and analyze everything. I was just curious if anyone else experienced this and got a bfp.

Thanks

Hey there!!

I'm sorry about the MF.. It really stinks!! My DH was diganogsed with a varicocele too in 2004 in both testes and had surgery but his unfortunately didn't get much better. It takes several months for the sperm to completely regenerate after surgery so that's probably why the repeat SA isn't for a while for your DH. I do know that the surgery has helped others but my DH had several that needed to be repaired and a few they couldn't get to..

As for the cramping.. I went through IVF (May/June 07) and had severe cramping approx 3-4 days after the embryo transfer which would have been 6-7 days after ovulation. It was more of like a strong strong cramp that would stop me in my tracks and then it would go away. It wasn't constant cramps like AF. They came and went.. But, this is just how it worked for me.. We got our BFP with that cycle and I'm now a little over 32 weeks!

I do know cramping is a great sign !! and could very possibly be implantation!! I really hope it is for you!! That was the only symptom that I remember during my cycle (other than tender breasts.. but that was probably from the progesterone injections)

GOOD LUCK and KEEP US POSTED!!!

Hi and Welcome! My DH had a large varicocele repaired in June and we got pg at the end of September. It normally takes a minimum of 3 months to see improvement in the sperm (it takes approx. 72 days for new sperm to mature), but I do know someone who got pg the following cycle after the surgery. Anything is possible with God!!!

As far as the cramping goes, I had TONS of cramping in early pg! I didn't even test until I was a week late because I was so sure af was on her way! I think I had off and on cramps for the first 3-4 weeks of my pg. (like Renee, my cramps came and went) It sounds like a good sign to me! Good luck to you sweetie! I hope you get your bfp soon! KUP!

I too had horrible cramping much too early for AF. When I found out I was pg I was so certain that I was misscarring that I wouldn't tell even our parents as I just knew that it would not last.....now K is almost 3 years old. Both pg's this summer that I had also had lots of cramping but those pg's didn't stick. Good luck, you may be on your way!

I have had all of my bpf's at 12 dpo. With K I had the faintest almost imaginary line at 9 dpo. I love first response myself, they seem to be the most accurate and the earliest positive result!

I really don't know much about varicocele as we were lucky (????) in that DH simply had a low count.
I had some cramping, tender breasts, really tired. I got my bfp around 12dpo (Which was about 7 days after my et.) but I was early. I would wait another week and then use the first response early test, that seems to be one of the most accurate ones.

I got my with a cheap test (almost looked negative) at 13days post ovulation.. the 14th day I had my beta.. I'm sure I would have gotten better results if I used a better test!!

GOOD LUCK!! Have you tested yet ??
