I really need some help here. My DH had a sp done and results were as follows:

Great sperm count 114.000.000

Great Motility and forward progression >60%

However Volume of ejaculate extremely low 0.5 norm is 2.0 - 5.0

and Morphology was >85% of abnormal forms.

DH Doc (not a specialist said that was fine) could he be right? in fact he called my DH Superman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a joke.

My concern is if morphology is >85% does this mean that 15% are normal? Or none at all are normal because they just said abnormal counts. Doc seems to think that cos there are so many sperm and moving well the low morphology shouldn't be of any concern.
Has any one ever heard of this before? I have an appointment with an andrologist in 4 weeks and need to know some info now. so please, please write in if you know anything or can make out anything with these results. I am so confused and worried.

Hmmmm I don't know. The count is fabulous, adn with that high a count, it may not be bad news since there is just more there percentage/per capita wise that are good. Sorry I can't be of more help! The andrologist should be able to give you some clarification and understanding, they are the pros!

because the amount was so small I am betting on maybe a varocele ......the count was great though .....so thats a toughy...I would have him rechecked in 3 months if you are still not preggo

What was the method used to calculate the morphology? If it was the Kruger strict method you only need more than 15% normal forms, under the WHO method greater than 30% is considered normal. Either way, the SA looks good. Maybe try some Preseed to increase cm and get DH on some green tea!

Factors that affect morphology include heat and drugs/smoking. Anti-oxidants have been proven to help morphology.
