o ?'s

Hey gals....I think iui has finally made me mental! This will be our last iui and final pg attempt. Here is my problem...I take clomid and usually o on day 16 with iui on the 17th. Today is day 15. This month I am also charting and using a differant brand of opk's. The last 4 days my opk has been so close to + it's been almost difficult to tell and my temp dropped 4 degrees 2 days ago and is back up today. I also had ewcm's starting yesterday and o cramps to go with it. My RE's nurse says she doesn't think I have o'ed yet because no + opk but I'm not so sure. I'd hate to waste the last try if I already o'ed! Then I'd rather wait a month...you know?! I am using the "answer" brand this month, usually I use First Response. The packaging is absolutly the same other than the name but I can't beleive I would be this close to a surge without actually surging for so long....What do you guys think?

Hi! Sorry to hear IUI is making you "mental". LOL! Well, I think it's possible you could be ovulating. I have never used First Response or Answer opks so I can't offer any experiences with those, but it is possible to not actually get a clear positive. I think 4 days of being close to a surge without a definite positive is pretty long. I have used Clear Blue Easy opks and for the most part, I think I would get a definite positive with those. ( I do remember occasionally having a problem with close positives) I have been using internet cheapie opks lately and have had lots of problems with not getting an actual positive. In fact this cycle I never got a true positive so I deleted my negative test results from FF so it wouldn't be too confusing. I would say if you have a clear temp shift, then you probably ovulated already. Good luck to you!

Thanks, that's what I thought too. RE's nurse says no but all my other "natural" signs say yes like cm's are gone and temps are up and cervix is really high. It just makes me so mad that you call them with a ? and get the "keep testing, we'll see, you don't usually go before the 16th day" answer instead of them actually listening to you! She actually wants to do the placement on Monday either way. What would be the point if I already o'ed on Thursday, it's already dead by now.

I agree that I wouldn't want to waste the money or my hopes on an IUI if I thought I already O'd, I would rather wait until next month...Personally I have used the answer tests and didn't like them, they were very hard to read, I got a bunch of what I thought were positives or close to it, and then finally got a positive that was a glaring difference, very confusing. They are cheaper, but I think that if I was doing something like IUI and needed to be absolutly positive I would get one of the OPK kits with the
