Hi everyone! I used to post on SK back in the day, but decided to start over since it's been so long.
My name is Becky and my dh and I have been TTC #2 for the past 4 years. We have a wonderful son, Brennan, who will be 5 in November. We had every test in the book and he was diagnosed with a varicocele vein and had surgery to tie it off back in Sept. His original numbers were low motility with low count. Post surgery he still has low numbers, but his motility increased 60%. We are going to have our first IUI this month with me taking clomid. I was really nervous because when I first started testing the RE would talk to me about IUI's with injectibles and the cost really scared me. However, during last week's consult he said he's just going to put me on clomid! I've been on it before so I know I can handle it both physically and financially!
I haven't had the chance to go through the success stories here, but has anyone been successful with IUI and clomid?
Thanks!
Becky

Welcome Becky! My DH and I have done 4 iui's and have a beautiful DD who will turn 3 this month. I also had 2 other successfull iui's that ended in misscairage. It definatly works! I will tell you though that it may take several months and the clomid moster really hates the wait KWIM?
Good luck and kee us posted, I'm gearing up for anouther round of iui too! Here's to the BFP's in our future!
Welcome Becky! I don't have any experience with IUI, but I know there are tons of success stories! My DH was also diagnosed with a varicocele, well 2 actually. He had the larger one repaired in June 2007, even though we didn't have much hope for it working, and much to our surprise, it worked! We found out we were pg in October 2007! Since your DH showed improvement, I think you are excellent candidates for IUI! Like Chrissy said, it may take several tries, but don't give up!
Here's some for you! (And all the other lovely ladies on this board!)
Thanks for the welcome you guys! I really appreciate it.
We are planning on doing IUI's in March, April, and May. We are wanting to try to get as many in before my husband is deployed in late May for about 6 months. If it does work, which we are both praying one takes, then I'll be due after he gets back home.
It has been such a long struggle. We've been TTC #2 since June of 2004 and it just seemed we always hit a roadblock whether it be insurance, finances, etc. After we got all the insurance straightened out we had all the testing you could think of and that's when my we were diagnosed with male-factor.

just wondering HOW do u ladies finance IUI into your budget? what is the best way to do that? did u pick the exact months ahead of time that u wanted to try IUI and save until then? or did u just do it right away and eat bread and water that month? ...or any other way!? im just trying to figure out how to fit the cost into the budget with out us having to struggle...and wanting to know the BEST way to do that?..or maybe your insurance helped u?...from what i understand our insurance will pay for the testing to be done....but after that we have to pay for any procedures.
