If you are dealing with varicoceles - don't give up!!!!!!!!!!!

My dh had the surgery in Aug 04 - we conceived our precious son in March '05. He was taking lots of vitamins (fertile one) and not taking baths, etc. For the record we didn't even bd in some of those in between months.

And we are pg again - this time we weren't even trying, in fact we bd 2 days before ovulation, and he was taking lots of baths and NO vitamins.

So don't give up!

Thanks jouful! Success stories really helps. My DH was scheduled for suger May 12, but his urologist put him on some meds to take before the surgery just in case of inflammation or something. Anyways they are rescheduling the surgery, not sure when. Hopefully soon. Congrats!

Had SA on 1/22/2008-found out low sperm count.
2/8/2008-DH starts taking Fertility Blend and L-Carnatine to assist in low count
2/14/2008-SA analysis again-yep-count still sucked!
2/21/2008-appointment with urologist found varicocile
3/3/2008-Surgery for varicocile-Doctor found TWO varicociles and had the buggers removed.
DH on Clomid for the next 3 months
June-DH's counts are to 23 million!!
4/9/2008-DH's testosterone went from 303 to 827!!
Apt with RE going for IUI in July!

Yes, his counts were very low - 6 million and 11 million -before surgery. He never had post surgery counts done - I didn't want to know and didn't want to make him go through that again.

Also, just for the record, the dr we used hadn't done the surgery in over a year. We went to a small town hospital because we thought insurance wasn't going to cover it - it didn't cover any infertility treatment - but by some miracle it did!!

My DH just started taking fertile one this month...how long was it before you noticed a change? he also had varicocele surgery on may 2..so we are really hoping things change for us!...congrats on your second pregnancy!! that is wonderful news for u!!

by the way, what level was the varicocele your DH had fixed? do u know?
