We have low sperm count but I was also recently Dx with PCOS, so we are both.

DH counts started around 600,000 and have improved over the last 7-8 months to 20 million on clomid.

There are some other ladies here with low sperm count, hopefully they will pipe in also!

GL!

Thanks for e-mailing me back Eden. Sorry to hear about the PCOS...nothing like adding fuel to the fire. My sister also has PCOS and just gave birth to a healthy girl! She was worried that the PCOS would bother her during her PG and luckily it didn't.

That is a great increase on your S/E! Are you guys going through IUI too?? I thought I saw you on that board...or I have been on so many boards lately...that I don't know which end is up anymore!

Mindy, I posted this on the stats thread, but couldn't email you from the link for some reason. I will send you a pm with my email though if you want to talk about this. I had posted on the "old" board about my struggle with finding out and the treatment so ask away if you have any questions o.k.!
Deb

Anyhoo, Matt and I have been ttc #1 for 13 cycles in about a year and a half. I have long cycles 35-40 days ususally and dh had an undecended testicle/hernia when he was a baby. He has literally one testicle producing only about a million sperm on our last s/a. Matt is scheduled for his post clomid (greater than 90 days on drugs) s/a any time now. I have given him the green light to go for it now that I have finally ovulated this cycle. I am off all drugs (read: vitamins/supplements) except prenatals this cycle and giving the clomid from dh a try this month. Right now I am 3 dpo aparently. I will pop in every once in a while, but work in a kitchen, so I get on the computer usually to check my hotmail and update my chart. Hugs to all and best of luck!
Mindy, has your husband been to a urologist yet? Just wondering what they are treating your husband with. Matt takes clomid now twice a week, but started at 3 times at 25mg. I am letting him drop off of the l-carnitine once his bottle is done and letting his urologist take over from there. If no bfp by August we are cleared to do an IUI hopefully with dh. Praying tons for more sperm as Matt's test was only .8 million in January

Yep, low sperm count here! I can't really reply with much, as I have no numbers or anything to go by (we haven't seen the RE, and apparently aren't going to, DH, you know.)

Deb - I saw that I had a e-mail from you before I read your post! I didn't know what it was so I deleted it! Sorry!

As for DH's S/A here are the counts Motility 23%, 14 million per mil., 15.5 Modil Sperm, and the Morphology is 3 (should be over 30). SO over all we just have bad sperm.

We have been to a Urologist, but there isn't anything they can do. We go in for our fist IUI this cycle (as long as the sperm is ok) in the meantime, I am changes DH's vitamins to see if we can help the problem! I am also on Clomid to help produce more than one egg...maybe if I give those spermies more than one target our chances will be better!

DH has been great about it so far....

Again, any suggestions would be great!

Sorry Mindy, I have to ask, did the urologist find a vericocele at all? I am not a dr, but thought that motility had something to deal with excess heat. BTW, Matt is banned from me from saunas and hot tubs. Motility isn't the prob with us, so unsure honestly. Proxeed I believe has been rated pretty highly for those men who the medical field says they can't help them though. It is a bit expensive, but the stats are impressive. I think it is proxeed.com or something like that.

No he didn't find anything wrong. He had a slight infection and was treated for it. His count went up by 14 million and that was back in Feb.

I forgot to tell you all but our count isn't our only problem. Everything in his s/e was rated low! So hopefully we will have some luck with our IUI this cylce! I am also on Clomid so hopefully there will be more than one egg, giving those lazy spermies more than one target!

I am on CD9, tonight is my last pill of Clomid...and then the wait starts for the big O! Late next week we should be able to go in for our first ever IUI!

Mindy

I wish you all the best!
