Default Kruger Morphology Test

Hi, new here on this male factor thread. Not sure if we have a problem yet or not but I thought I would throw this one out there.
Anyone familiar with this? We had a second opinion appt today with a new RE. She thinks we are on the right track, maybe a few things she would do different but that is understandable. Mike's original s/a was classified as *fine* with the last RE but when this new RE looked at his records today she asked if we were told that his Kruger Morphology was low. Of course not, we were only told things were fine. So, he is getting another s/a on Wednesday morning. We should know for sure and if that is the problem no IUI or anything less than IVF will work. Or so the RE tells us. So we shouldn't waste our time and money.
Just curious if any of you have heard of this and what it does.
Thanks

I have heard of it but don't know much about it. Iwill see if I can find anything.l

It is always good to have at least 2 tests done, lots of things effect the SA, like if DH was sick during the 90 days prior or had been in a hot tub, etc. So, its always good to test at least twice. Of course, it could also go down, so be prepared for anything. Either way, if he is close to normal, you still have lots of options and IUI could be a great alternative.

Good luck!

Hi! Sorry to hear about the bad news. Like Eden said, many factors play a role in semen so your results this time around may be different. My dh also has poor morphology along with many other poor semen parameters. If poor morph is your dh's only "low score", your chances with IUI should be rather good because with high numbers and motility, they can wash the bad ones away and still have enough for a good IUI.

Do you know any of his numbers?

Thanks girls. I will get his new numbers back on Friday to see if we proceed with IUI #2 or go on to IVF. I was told that if his morphology numbers are low (still) then we will do IVF because the morph makes the sperm unable to penetrate the egg in order to get it fertilized. If the morph is close to normal or normal then we can do IUI again. His numbers were only 3.5 million after the wash for the IUI but his original s/a the numbers were 170million with everything else being good.
It all is crazy!!!
It's not just the women either!!!
