Icon7 introduction

Hi,

I am very new to the board and I am so happy because it seems as though I have found the place for me. I am 27 and my dh is 29 and we have been married for four years and ttc#1 for three years.

Unfortunatley, we found out that dh had a two varicoceles. He had sugery in April and we just had our three month check-up. The results showed no improvement and his counts were actually lower. Our doc told us that sometimes it takes up to seven months post surgery to see any improvement and that sometimes there is never improvement.

She ran some other genetic tests and we are waiting for the results.

I am glad that there is a forum out there for people who have the same issues as us and I look forward to talking with all of you.

We hope you feel comfy cozy on this board and are happy to try and answer any questions you have. We have some other ladies here who are delaing with Vs and hopefully they can offer you some hope. We are trying to build our little group here and we are so glad you have joined us. We also have male If issues but ours is due to low FSH hormone.

I hope your DH #s go up at the next check up. I have heard that it can take longer than 3 months.

Hi!

I am new here too. My dh and I have been ttc for about 4 years and he was diagnosed with bilateral varicoceles. He hasn't had the surgery yet but his presurgery appointment is scheduled for next week. What type of surgery did your dh have? We were given information about three different types.

Odd that your dh's doctor didn't do the genetic testing before the surgery. My dh had tons of testing done including hormones and genetics. The only thing they found was low testosterone which the dr said may be due to the varicoceles.

Hopefully we can create a very supportive and helpful group here!

For my dh's surgery, he had two small incisions made near his hips and then the surgeon cut the v's out using a microscope. He had a very good recovery and was able to go back to work within four days.

As for the blood tests, we went through all the testing before and by two different docs. I guess this one just fell through the cracks.

Good luck with your pre-surgery appointment! I'll be thinking good thoughts.

Julie
