just wondering how long you will keep TTC with dh low SA? At what point would you move to ICSI?

IVF with ICSI #1 - March 2005
IVF with ICSI #2 -August 2005
IUI #1
September '06 IVF with ICSI #3 postponed due to illness
Nove 3 - ER 13 eggs retreived 12 mature
Fert Report--11/4/06- 10 still going strong---we will do a 5 day transfer
Fert Report 11/8/06 - still have 10 --transfered 4 day 5 blasts
11/17 beta 59 11/22 740 11/27 2700 2 sacs
WE have one great heartbeat!!

TAYLOR MARIE IS HERE---BORN 6/25/07 - 5 weeks early weighing 7lbs 5oz and 20 inches long

8/30 Well Child---Weight 11lbs14oz
10/27 3 month Well Child- Weight 16lbs 10oz (I think??)
1/9/08 6 month Well child- Weight 19lbs 8 oz and 27 inches long
2/26/0MD visit- Weight 22lbs
3/27/08 9 month Well child- Weight 22lbs 3 oz and 30 inches long
1 year appt--26lbs

I imagine that if we don't have a BFP by August of next year, we will move onto IVF with ICSI.

First...what is ICSI??

I think DH and I will go for 1 more year...trying to get a good enough speciman to have an IUI done....If we have more than 3 failed IUI's then we will look into IVF.

We haven't had an IUI done yet...we are waiting for his S/A to come back with better results that will let us move to the next step!

With us i we didnt really have any choice as DH has zero sperm count
But i guess after 3 years i would have wanted to move onto IVF with ICSI pretty quickly ... I wouldnt have wanted to wait much longer and i think with the IVF route is much more aggressive than the IUI ...

ICSI is used with IVF where they take one single sperm and actually inject it into te egg....it is usually used for men with not so good sperm and for couples who have been through at least 1 IVF without success HTH Mindy

Patricia - We tried for just 1 &1/2 IUI cycles, before my RE was very honest and said that wives of men who have low sperm counts (mine has borderline) really do not have success with IUIs. So we have moved onto doing IVF now and my RE said that she will be including the ICSI too with our first IVF. I'm glad - I've had enough heartache over this MF issue!

Eden - You must be very patient to be able to wait another whole year I will still hope that you have success this year though!
