So... we just got my hubby's SA results today and they were all pretty normal with the exception of the viscosity. They told us that there is always the chance that we can get pregnant on our own but suggested an IUI. They also put me on metformin since I was diagnosed at 17 with PCOS. Anyone else have the high viscosity issue??? Really could use some words of wisdom! Is this going to be an impossible road for us. The biggest downfall is that my husband is in the marine corps and we are being PCS'd to North Carolina which means, I have to start that flippin process all over again. I have to go to the PCM, get a referral and pray that I can get in to the REI clinic in this lifetime!!
Sorry for the negative attitude....its been a stinky last few weeks! Thanks guys!!
We had male factor also.. but didn't have an issue with viscosity though.. I'm pretty certain that it would be easy to fix.. especially with IUI .. they wash the sperm anyways.. so I don't see it as a problem.. We had problem with the count, motility and shape.. and those weren't fixable unfortunately..
so I'd look at is as a good thing...
I know the feeling of pcs'ing and starting over.. My DH is in the army.. That's what took us so long... we kept moving from place to place.. but, keep at it.. You'll be pregnant in no time.. and You'll have your baby in your arms before ya know it !!
HI there!
Sorry you have to start all over again, but if the SA was pretty normal except for viscosity, you can still try on your own while waiting to get into the RE. Have him take mucinex starting a day or two before your fertile days and drink as much water as you can pour down his throat. The mucinex can "thin" the semen making eat easier for the sperm to "get around", same with the water. It is worth trying

Thank you all sooooo very much. Its nice to know that there are others out there that care enough to give some advise!
My hubby went today to give his little troopers to the cyro lab before he heads to his next duty station. Our son and I are staying here until we get base housing and since we are, they suggested trying on round while we are here. They forgot to add though that they still wanted us to do the HSG. That would be no problem except all of this carbage revolves around your cycle as Im sure ya'll know and of course Im on day 2 which means, Id need to do the HSG and get the clomid on Monday......highly unlikely! lol
Say a couple of prayers for us that maybe by some miracle, they will be able to get me in Monday morning and that we will be able to do our first IUI around the 10-13 of March!!!!
dont ya just love the military! It always seems like right when you get things going and you are being productive.......thats when orders fall out of the sky! lol
They decided I didnt have to have the HSG and they started the clomid today so.....on the 11th I go in for a scan of my ovaries to see if I have any follicles!!!!!! Im soooooo pumped!!!!!! Just have to keep my fingers crossed and pray that it works!
Hi Tiffany and welcome to the board! I just wanted to wish you luck! I hope you get lots of big follies and your IUI gives you that beautiful BFP you are longing for! I think we're gonna have lots of BFP's this year!
Tiffany, I'm late on this one but I wanted to wish you luck! Also wanted to say that I post on the iui board too and those girls are great "cycle buddies" with all of this....there get's to be alot of pacing....as if there wasn't enough!
Hey Tiffany-
Just wanted to let you know I am in the Jacksonville area and there are some really great doctors out here.
Let me know if you need pointing in any direction and good luck to you. My DH and I are in the middle of varicocile surgery so I know how frustrated you are!
OMG!! So we just got back from the REI and I know a little more info than I did when I first wrote this. So my DHs SA results were all really good other than the vicosity. He had an 87.4 mil sperm count. They did the scan of my ovaries and I have 8 follicles! They arent mature yet and wont be until like sunday or monday. I go back in on Monday to have another scan and if all looks good, they will do the insemination Monday!!!!!!! Today wa ssuch a great day. Way more follicles than I expected!
Five IUIs two with clomid two with femara
Finally started Adoption process
Dec 24th brought baby jackson home
Jan 15th had to say goodbye to jackson
Now starting process through county

Okay so....I went in on Monday and had one pretty folie at 22mm. Got my HCG trigger and yesterday had my first IUI. Luckily no discomfort now, I wait! This is sooo nerve racking. lol Anyone else have an hcg trigger? I've had some cramping and bloating...is that normal?? I've also read that it can cause PG symptoms. Thats just a cruel joke! haha Thanks to all for your support!!!! Makes this a little easier!
