can anyone decipher this?

Hi! I usually post on the iui board (new there too) and I was wondering if anyone could decipher dh's results for me.

We had our 2nd iui 10/28 and used a different clinic. The first clinic's results were very clear and easy to read but this one not so much.

1) What is a "normal" pre and post wash volume?

2) What does TMI stand for? In this slot the numbers are 8 x 10 with a small 6 above (like the to the power of.)

3) What would cause double and triple tailed sperm this time around? Note: Dh has no problems, checked out excellent in every catagory last month w/ 2 days abstinence. This time these sperm were present w/ 1 day abstinence (oops) and I get the feeling this sample wasn't so good. But I don't know for sure cause no one explained anything, just handed us the sack.

I would appreciate any help I can get with this. Thank you in advance! I think we'll be going to the other clinic if we're not successful this time!

Yikes! Sorry, that all sounds greek to me.

I know several girls in the TTC 6+ and TTC 30 Something have had IUIs that might be able to help.

I see this post is rather old.

However, for those who are interested:

Normally they want at least 5 million sperm post wash.

TMI is total motile sperm available. In this case, 8 million.

Double and triple tailed sperm are somewhat common. Usually they want about 15% completely normal sperm. Deformed sperm can be caused by smoking, drugs, and even heat to the testicles. Sometimes anti-oxidants can decrease the percentage of deformed sperm.
