Vitamin K Injection question.

I've been thinking about saying no to the injection. I read that oral vitamin K can be given instead. How is this done? Also, is the shot given right after birth? Or is it done sometime before the baby leaves the hospital?

I had no clue about any of the risks. I don't even remember being told that DS was going to get one when he was born. That really pisses me off because I had my choice taken away from me!
