What is your objective?

At first it's to express my view, then afterward it's to defend it when people are picking apart/attacking it.

I chose both to express my view, but I also want to understand where the other side is coming from.

I just like to express my view and look at other people's opinions. If I don't know much about the subject being debated, I like to just lurk and read all the posts and form my own opinion after soaking up all the knowledge the smarter ladies have shown I feel like I learn alot here.

First is to express your view but I also like to gain an understanding of how people who are different from me think.

I voted other. I just like to be a pain in the butt. I have no goal for doing this. BUT I have learned a lot about people, who hold different views than people I would *choose* to be around. I mostly learned that they like to be pains in the butt too
