I once had a boyfriend who refused to 'celebrate' Valentine's Day. He claimed that it was a holiday made up by retailers to make $. He claimed that he should not be forced to 'show love' on one particular day, but that he should be allowed to be romantic when the mood struck (which was, of course, never).
Said boyfriend always seemed to stir up a 'fight' between us right before birthdays and other holidays. Yep. He was a cheapskate.
So what do you think about Valentine's Day? Do you expect anything from your sweetheart? Do you reciprocate?
How about the singles? Does Valentine's Day make you hopeful or is it just depressing? Or do you even care?
"This day, contrived by mass mechandisers, flowers and the parents of red haired, buck toothed little boys and girls (that will someday grow up to be remakably beautiful), seeking recognition for their progeny, has arrived. It's all about presents, flowers, chocolate and cheesy cards. There is no escaping the retail stampede charging directly for our wallet. There is no escaping the phony good and loving wishes directed at every biped in sight, delivered with most well meaning insincerety."
