Default Spin off- What is the bigger sin?

What is the bigger sin, living the gay lifestyle or being remarried? Wouldn't they be equal sins since they are both constantly living in sin? I found an article that sparked my interest in this. And I wanted to know some opinions on this.

http://www.elroy.net/ehr/gay.html

Some Christians have made an art of figuring out who is saved and who is not. They figure that if you are at least trying to align your lifestyle to fit their interpretation of God's laws, then you are living under God's grace. But if you choose to continue living in a lifestyle displeasing to God, you cannot really be saved because you are living in a state of rebellion. These Christians are diligent to pick out those sins that are "lifestyle" sins and those that are once-in-a-while sins that can affect even good Christians. Once-in-a-while sins they blow off with the phrase, "we all fail sometime." Lifestyle sins they condemn loudly, making the point that people who practice such sins are bound for hell, and if they seduce our children into such sins, they will go to hell too.

And this is where these kinds of Christians, known collectively as the Religious Right or Fundamentalists, make a mockery of their own Savior. They do this by picking and choosing which lifestyle sins are covered by God's grace and which ones are not. They do this by claiming that God's grace covers their own lifestyle sins but not those of the homosexual. They do this by accepting God's grace in their own lives and then refusing to extend that same grace to those they condemn for having the wrong lifestyle.

And they can do this because they don't believe they have any lifestyle sins of their own. If you ask them about it, they'll say things like, "I used to sleep around but I was forgiven of that sin and now I don't do it anymore." However, ask them if a homosexual can be saved by God's grace, and they will say, "The gay man who does not turn from his homosexuality is choosing to live a lifestyle counter to God's laws and is not, therefore, saved by grace." What they conveniently forget is that 50% of them - those who count themselves among the Religious Right - are divorced, and more than 85% of those are remarried. What that means is, according to the Bible, that nearly 43% of the same people who condemn the gay man for his homosexuality choose to live in a lifestyle of adultery, a sin that ranks equal to homosexuality in God's eyes.
That's right. The very people who condemn one "sinful" lifestyle are practicing another.

You see, in the Bible Jesus said:

"Every one who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery."
Luke 16:18
And the Apostle Paul (who continued to sin himself) said:
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God."
1 Corinthians 6:9-10

So is living a gay lifestyle worse than being remarried? After all that is adulterous.

I'm not a deeply religious person but according to the Bible sin is sin is sin, the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong (FTR, I have zero problem with homosexuals) but there is scripture that says it's okay to end a marrage under certain circumstances....so why would God expect you to never remarry??

I think this is apples and oranges, sorry.

Hey I didn't make up the rules.

You see, in the Bible Jesus said:

"Every one who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery."
Luke 16:18
So why is one sin less than the other. Why does one get a pass and the other doesn't.

I am out for the night though, it's family night at my house.

The Bible does allow divorce in when Adultry or Abandonment happens.

Matthew 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
1 Corinthians 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

The only sin that is unforgivable is blasphemy, so homosexuals, adulterers, murderers, etc., CAN be forgiven. As far as which sin is worse, blashemy is THE worse. I believe all other sin is equal in the eyes of God. I believe you can remarry if your spouse dies and it is not considered an adulterous act.(I could be wrong though) I don't ever plan to get divorced, but if I did I wouldn't get remarried.

The point you missed Kady is that it really IS the continuing unrepentance behind the sin. God does forgive, but not everyone wants that forgiveness. The key is right here:

"I used to sleep around but I was forgiven of that sin and now I don't do it anymore."
When you don't do it any more, i.e. you've turned youself over to God and said ''I've done wrong but I'm willing to change if you'll forgive me(well, he does the changing, but you still have to willfully decide that is what you want), that is when forgiveness comes. Do you know any homosexual who says they're not doing it any more? That doesn't make sense.Homosexuals are being homosexuals, so there is nothing more to say. They are STILL doing it, so this doesn't matter. If a homosexual or whoever comes to God and says that they want forgiveness and sees their sin the way God does, he will forgive, no matter how long it has been that they have been involved in that sin. The key is, are they really leaving it behind? Are they sincere?I don't see your point.

You see, when I was sleeping with my DH but we weren't married, that in itself was wrong but of course his decree absolut hadn't been completed from the divorce proceedings yet so I was also disregarding God's moral law as far as that was concerned. So what did I do? I broke it off and decided not to ever see him again, very upset but realizing that is what I had to do if I was genuinely sorry. He eventually came round to the idea of being saved but that wasn't immediate and it meant we had nothing to do with each other for a good while. However, God does restore dignity to people and when he forgives, he forgives. In our case, marriage was the right thing to do rather than take up living together (he had to sort his divorce out in the meantime anyway). What's the difference between me and a practising homosexual who doesn't see anything wrong with it? I stopped doing what I was doing and meant it.That gets God's attention and only he has the right to say who is forgiven and who isn't, but the sign of repentance is *change*, simple as that.

And in fact, Kim is right to say that the only unpardonable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit;which many think is simply looking at the obvious work of the Holy Spirit and calling it evil, saying it is devilish.I think at that point someone would have to have a completely seared conscience towards God, or as the Bible puts it, reprobate mind.

Kady , don't you see they have an answer for everything. They are always right, everyone else is wrong. They have a free ticket to the pearly Gates, the rest of us are going to hell. Sin is equal on paper but not in the real world or through their actions. It's clear that that is the way it is, according to them, thank Goodness they aren't God and that he is the one that truly knows.
