Icon5 Where is everyone?

Wow, this board's been really slow lately....maybe we can post our updates of what's been going on the past few days to get things moving again..??

I'll go first. I'm just poas, waiting to get a + opk. Not even sure if I will ovulate on my own w/o meds, but my RE nurse said it's worth a try since we have to sit out this month. I highly doubt it, but I'll try anyway. But I'm not obsessing over it, so that's one good thing. Trying to take it easy and when I catch myself trying to overthink things, I'm trying to step back. It works most of the time.

We are gearing up to get DSD on Wednesday for the entire summer. It's quite an adjustment, and it takes us all a couple of weeks to get used to the "summer schedule." I used to feel like a failure for not just completely melding into perfect stepmom mode the moment she walked through the door, but then someone kindly pointed out that we are a childless couple (except on weekends) for 9 months out of the year. So, I don't worry too much anymore about it.

I had another small meltdown the other day b/c the wife of my dh's friend drove all the way down (at least an hr) to surprise me w/ her baby. I was doing great for 3 days straight, trying like crazy to pull myself up out of this depression and BAM, she shows up completely unannounced w/ her 4 yr old, 2 yr old and her 2 wk old. Long story short, I did my best to save face, but thought it was a little insensitive. I really like her, I don't think she did it to be mean at all, I was just having some good days finally after several wks of hating my life and this happened. Blah. Doing fine now though!

Ladies, please update when you can okay? I know we're probably all crazy busy, but I had a few spare moments this morning and thought I'd check in on everyone!

Take care!!

I agree Angie, it has been slow lately. Good luck to you in your off month. Sorry you are still having moments of sadness. I think it is to be expected though.

I am going for my beta tomorrow (Sunday) but I couldn't wait and decided to poas this morning. BFN. Bummer. At this point I can't even visualize a BFP on the stick. 12 months of BFNs will do that to you. So, I am pretty sure this wasn't our month. I'm sure the beta will confirm that.

Good luck to my fellow 2ww'ers and all of you no matter where you are in the process.

Thanks Angie. I know everyone here knows what it is like but it does help to hear from others who get it. Still no AF and I will still to the beta, but I doubt the negative test result was wrong. Last month AF came on cd31. Today is cd29 and it says on the directions that two days before is 90% accurate. Ho-hum.

Thanks for starting this thread Angie and for checking in. It has been a bit lonely here and your company has helped.

Hello -

Angie sounds like you will have your hands full with your dsd for the summer. I hope you have a great time. I hope you get a + opk and who knows maybe even a +hpt after that...

Laura - bfns really do suck they should be outlawed... yeah okay but I think they should do away with hpts all together because I never want to look at one lined sticks again... I really hope your beta proves otherwise... do you have plans for a next cycle?

Well me I have just been lurking more or less these days. Throwing in a few comments here there but I just sit here waiting for my dh to return. I tried calling an RE office but they only have hours till 3:45 PM. I filled out the form on-line for a new patient so hoping they will call me back. My OB was suppose to set up an appt for me with another RE for a consult and haven't heard anything back so I've decided to go with this other RE who will be closer to where I live when I get back home. Hopefully I can get surgery scheduled for the septum removal. Didn't even know such things existed until I was told I had one.
I'm currently just trying to lose weight... so far to date I've lost 23 lbs and am so happy with my progress... I need to lose about 10 - 8 more lbs. I was reading if you are in your supposed bmi category you have some improvements for IVF... which I keep giving a lot of consideration jumping straight to IVF. With endo I keep reading about a 6 month window before it starts to come back... I don't know... I like being on bcps and saying goodbye to ... I use to have a lot of pain when I ovulated it felt like someone was sticking me with a knife... had lots of tylenol to get me through the day... so definitely don't miss that and haven't had it since surgery...

So there is my update... oh yeah in less than 10 days I'm off to CA. We have relatives out there and my Uncle is a Chiropractor. My daughter had tubes put in her ears and also has enlarged tonsils. He thinks he can eleviate these symptoms...we'll see he is a good dr... my sister and I had a slight curve in our back and spent one summer with him and now it's gone... who knows it's free treatment if it works great if not well hey can't say we didn't try. Maybe I will ask about infertility adjustments... who knows.

Hi Angie...I'm so sorry she did that to you. That was very insensitive. On a better note...I hope you get a + OPK girly.

Laura...I really hope that HPT was wrong and you get a positive beta tomorrow...My thoughts are with you girl.

Shawna...You are such a strong woman...I really hope the next 5 months fly by for you. I hope your daughter is feeling better since the tubes...less ear infections. My nephew has to get them June 13th. I would totally get adjusted...try anything. on the weight loss girl...I'm so proud of you! I've got to do it too. I've lost about 30lbs in the last 2 years, but the last week (on stims for IVF) I've gained about 5lbs in H20 weight..ugh...well, I've lost at least 2 of them by this morning. yeah! It's so hard..What are you doing to lose the weight? If you don't mind me asking.

As for me ladies...well I'm done with the IUI's, but I still check back on you guys and post. I'm doing my IVF transfer tomorrow...transfering 2 embiess...I really hope this works. We have MF and the IUI's weren't working...we tried 6 of them all double...so many woman get pg on IUI's girl...I see it all the time, so don't use me as an example. to you all! Can't wait to read about your bfp's

Chrissy, that's awesome!! I will pray you get your bfp this month, it's looking good! I follow your progress on the IVF board as well.

I was very excited to get that + opk, since I hardly ever see one on my own. So..we'll see.

Good luck to everyone cycling....may you get those bfps real soon!

Hey Chrissy,

I joined the YMCA in Sept and go every day... or try to at least 5 days a week and I take green tea supplements. I do an hour of cardio and do their expressway nautilus every other day. I have worked my butt off and try to drink a lot of water. I am a big milk drinker and trying to cut down and eat salads for lunch. I have noticed my blood pressure is doing great as well... losing weight sure isn't easy that's for sure. I saw a picture of myself last summer that made me realize how big I had gotten... a lot more than I should have weighed.

Angie - so hope a bfp is coming your way... can't wait to see what will happen.

Thanks Shawna...I appreciate the support!

That's wonderful that you're working so hard and losing weight. Because I am truly opposite of the entire population, I have to work very hard to gain. My RE refused to see me until I put on 15 lbs. So that put me back another 6-7 months. It didn't take me that long to gain it but I also had to obtain releases from a therapist and a nutritionist. I am a recovering anorexic. Long story though, not your typical "I am fat" anorexic. Not in any way did I ever think I was too big. People actually tell me to my face they hate me for being so small, but what they don't know is it's hard for me to gain, and it hurts when they say those things, but oh well...What you're doing is good for you and your lil ones..so keep up the good work!

Have a great holiday weekend ladies! Keep up the good work!

hey all,
i haven't been posting because this is my off month. i didn't use an OPK, I didn't analyze my body changes. I'm really just taking it easy--and its really nice! I'm staying off the meds for June and July also. Its my own little break. Next month I'll start using the OV watch and give that a whirl.

Let me know how you like the OV watch okay? I was thinking of getting one, but me ovulating on my own is a long shot, so I didn't get it. I am curious about it though!

yeah i'll let you know. i do ovulate on my own, I think we just always miss the window. and the ov watch supposedly detects your ovulation 4 days in advance, so you get a little more planning time. And it seems like a neat concept, no poas, just wear a watch to bed at night and in the morning you read the watch face. i like that idea!!!

i went to a friends baby shower on saturday, and definitely prepped myself for it. I was fine during it, but boy was I snappy to my dh when I got home. I quickly apologized and he totally understood. I just needed to decompress so i grabbed my book and sat outside for about an hour. My DH came out after about 20 minutes, sat in the chair facing me, lifted my legs onto his lap and he let be quiet, and then i was able to relax.

I'm so happy for my friend, but at the same time, its hard to shop in the baby aisle, etc. ya know? but there is hope...when i was in the baby aisle, i saw all this stuff with sea turtles--and i've loved sea turtles since we swam with them during our honeymoon. So I thought "this could be our baby room theme..." I told my dh and he loved it. And then, oddly enough, yesterday we were at macy's, walking past the coach area, and dh spotted a coach sea turtle key chain. there were just 2 sea turtle key chains sitting alone...and if the cabinet had been angled just slightly we wouldn't have seen it. So, we inquired about the price, and it was the same amount I had remaining on a gift card!

So I like to think everything happens for a reason, and maybe these are our subtle signs to keep hoping!

Hi Ladies!

Just thought I would pop in and say "hello"!!

I also took a couple of months off, my body was having some weird cycles after I took BCP's and Lupron and Estrace. I had a 34 day cycle and 42 day cycle.

Today is CD 32 still no AF a few more days until testing.

I think that its quite possible that I still get AF going from my last couple of cycles, so I am not running to test.

Also being 42yrs makes me think even more that my chance is VERY slim that this be a successful cycle.

I am not certain of what we will do next - maybe another IUI....with more med's??

Anyhow, gotta run!

Wanna....enjoy your month off to relax and be med free. Your DH sounds like such a sweetheart...very thoughtful I know what you mean about shopping for babies..it's tough. Unless it's my sister or SIL's kids...I get a gift card...just easier on me.. Sea turtles...what a great idea..especially since it has such a loving meaning between the two of you...I think the coach key chain and gift card were a sign to you too...your bfp is coming

Angie...I have a freind battling the disease. It is so hard...many people don't realize it's a medical condition, just like my RA is a condition. It takes courage for you to talk about it. It made me smile to see how far you've come with it. You are so ready for your bfp girl!

Melissa...I hope AF is late for a good reason...good for you giving yourself a break from meds...are bodies need it.

Hi to everyone else!

As for me ladies...just on couch rest...3dpt...wahoo!! I feel crampy...I hope that is a good sign that my little embiess are sticking. Have a great day!

Angie - how are you feeling... any symptoms... so exciting hope this is it for you... So glad you have everything under control... my cousin has just gone in for an eating disorder... bulimia. She spent a month in therapy but it seems like it should be longer as long as you need.

Chrissy... I don't feel very inspirational but thank you... keep watching for that post...

Wanna - hope God is giving you subtle hints of what is to come in the future

Melissa - hope you get that soon

Actually being on this board has really helped...
