What do you do?

On the day of your IUI, do you go back to work or do you stay home? I'm debating whether or not to go back to work after my IUI on Friday. It will be very busy at work that day I work for 3 optometrists and I'm the only one at the front desk. I kinda feel bad for staying home on Tuesday after my follie check when I didn't really need to. (I didn't feel good.)

I know it's ok w/ my RE to return to work and I'm just being silly, but I always feel like I have a better chance if I take it easy and lie down for a while afterwards. I know it's just me and my twisted thinking...technically it doesn't cut my chances but it's one of those things that I can do to make me feel better. Plus, it gives dh & I time to just relax w/ one another. Also, I am way stressed at work all the time so I'm sure that wouldn't help matters any.

So..any input ladies? What would you do?

I took a "me" day after our IUI. I went home and vegged out on the sofa!

According to my RE it doesnt make a difference becvause the cervix closes after the IUI. That being said, the two times that IUI's worked for me - I went back to work. The other 7 times I stayed home I didn't get pregnant.

I think its ok to go back to work if you want too, because once they put the little guys in your uterus they can't come out. My doctor says its even safe to go swiming after the IUI! I think you should be fine going back to work, I don't beleive stress pays a factor in getting pg I was stressed to the max with all my IUI cycles and still got pg. Let us know what you decide! I think whatever YOU feel the need to do amd whatever is going to keep you the most relaxed...If it is taking a "me" day then a me day it should be if it is getting back to work then back to work it is.....I think the mental game and the more relaxed you are to play it the better!!!

And dn NOT forget to laugh!!! I really believe that is what got me though...I know it feels like there is NOTHING to laugh at when you are going threw all this but I realllllllllly believe it works!!! Besides laughter adds 8 years to your life!!! (have you seen those comercials????????)

i went to work after each one...and then took it easy at night...

the dr usually will let you chill out in the room after the session--so why don't you just ask for 20 minutes?

but its all personal--so if you think you'll feel better taking the afternoon off, then do it...its all up to you!
