Default Ultrasound Question

How soon did you have an ultrasound after you got a BFP? I know us infertility chicks get them before normal so I'm wondering how soon I can expect to get in. How far along do you have to be to see a heartbeat?

My RE is making me wait until 7 weeks which is Wednesday. She thinks going earlier is too soon and you risk not seeing enough and getting worried for no reason. She said we would see the heartbeat and maybe hear it too. Usually by 8 or so weeks I believe you can hear it. Good luck! When would your due date be? If December, you should join us in the DID board if you haven't already.

Your RE Jenny likes to wait till around 7 weeks before you get one, mine was 6wk6d. The embryo's heartbeat is best seen after 6wks and there are times that 7 is better. I would set yours up for around 7 wks so you can see it. The next U/S can be at your 1st offical OB appoint and then the next one is usually around 20 wks and unless you have issues you may not get another one. Due to my high blood pressure I had 2 more.

In Austin there is a 3D place that I went too and they are nice if baby cooperates.

I know that the wait is hard but hang in there and I promise you that the whole 9 months flys by even though you dont think so.

Thanks so much for the info, girls! I know I have a long road ahead of me but I have no idea what to expect. I entered my stats into a couple of different online pregnancy calculators and got different estimated due dates so I'm kinda confused. The first one I did just asked for the first date of my last cycle (March 26th) and then estimated my due date as December 31st. Another one I did estimated December 9th. Weird. My cycle are on average 32-34 days and I have no clue what a luteal phase is, some of the calculators wanted me to enter that. :/ When I go for my second beta tomorrow, will they be able to give me an EDD already or will I have to wait until the ultrasound? When I figure it out I will most definately join you on the "Due In" boards! I have alot to learn and I can use all of your help!

Ok, another question... when you all say 6 weeks or 7 weeks do you mean the number of weeks since conception or the number of weeks since the first day of your last period? I keep thinking I'm only 2 weeks pregnant but, again, I'm so confused! We conceived on April 9th or 10th.

They measure it from the first day of your last period.
