U/S nightmare
All of you who have been doing the follicle studies will appreciate this nightmare, I now laugh/ whimper/cry at the memory of it.
Okay, I couldn't get a scan @ my gyno today to fax to me re out of town, so I went to a large u/s place in the area. Just went there on Sat, had a great tech, no problems in and out, etc. Today is cd 8, and my ovaires have been aching, so I bumped u/s date up.
So, the visit started out with her telling me that I needed a external and internal u/s, no I know I don't----been through this more times than I have liked, Whatever, she insisted, I did it, and of course she couldn't see anything (shocking), so I had to empty my bladder, and start the itnernal. As a reminder, this is during the work day, what was supposed to take about 10 minutes trned into a 1 hour nap on the exam table.
So, she can't get the machine to work............Probe is inserted and a blank screen, "spontaneous hysterectomy"............then she figures it out.
Proceeds to tell me that I have fluid behind the uterus, which my gyno said was in, but she insisted behind, a cyst in the cervix (just had a scan on Sat. and it was clear), and that she couldn't figure out which was my ovary and which were follicles, just kill me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, so I want to rip the wand out and clink her over the head, but then I realized, Nicole, you need these results, jsut shut up and deal.
Okay, so an hour later here are the results.............I made an appt with my gyno u/s lady tomorrow to verify this disaster............
Right ovary-11 folicles, leading ones @ 18 & 15mm
Left ovary--15-16 follciles, leading ones @ 13 and 15mm----and as a bonus, get ready a "double follicle"
Uterine lining, only 5mm, I didn't expect much more since it is only cd 8, and I usually don't even start monitoring until cd 12, so something is clearly moving things too fast?????
This was only with metformin and 50 mg clomid.
So, my bloodwork from this morning came back fine, but after this scan I don't know what my re is going to say. I have to call tomorrow am.
Tkeys.............I feel your pain right now, since I have a ridiculous amount of follicles, and I am thinking they are going to cancel or convert to ivf, something I wasn't prepared for.
I'll update tomorrow, sigh sigh whimper whimper.
