Success w/ one follicle..anyone?

Hey ladies-
I haven't written in a while. I am currently mid cycle, 5th cycle on med w/ IUI. I am so upset and have been crying so hard my head is going to explode! I am on my second cycle w/ injectables. They moved me much slower this cycle since I over responded on my first and they were concerned I would develop OHSS. So, things were going okay, until today at my u/s when it was obvious to me that only one follicle was going to mature. Has anyone had a successful IUI cycle with one follicle?

I know everyone says, "it only takes one," but for some reason that is not comforting. Another cycle of disappointment and hurt. Anybody who did IVF, when did you finally decide to move on to that? I don't know if I can do this anymore......not that IVF is a walk in the park, but a fertilized egg is present at least!

3 failed clomid + IUI cycles
1 failed cycle gonal f + lupron+ IUI
Currently in 2nd gonal f cycle....IUI ?????

I am living proof!!! As a matter of fact it was a gonal f cycle and they moved me slow!!! I did not even have the iui until 12 days after my first gonal f injection...because they were waiting for the ONE follie I had to mature...I was sooo sure that the cycle was going to fail...and that I was going to O before the trigger...BUT it worked!!! Hang in there!!

hello, yes it definatly can work if you think about most people just trying to concieve they usually only have one follicle every month. so stay positive and I hope you get your bfp I actually did 5 cycles of iui with clomid 2 iui's per cyle before I moved on to IVF and with that cycle they were only able to retirve 2 eggs but only one was mature and fertalized and that is the one that took.

Yes! My first cycle I did w/ new RE was successful. I was on Femara, injectibles, baby askprin, and progesterone suppositories. I was upset to only find one mature follie,(they were less than thrilled as well) but lo and behold it worked.

It can happen, so please try not to worry too much! I know it's easier said than done.

If can def. happen with only 1 follie. What CD are you on? If it is still early in your treatment, you could very well have 1 or 2 more that catch up.

Don't loose hope yet! Have faith!

I got pregnant on my first inj/IUI cycle. I mc'd due to low progesterone but it only takes one. I know that doesn't help for you to hear that but I have had 6 and 7 and never got my bfp. I almost feel like if you have one follie it is better in a way. Many women get their bfp's with 1 follie. Good luck

Thanks you so much ladies! I have calmed down a bit today, especially after my acupuncture session. That is so relaxing and I am so glad that I am doing it! It is soooooooooooo helpful to hear positive stories from all of you. This struggle is unbearable at times, so I am grateful that whenever I seek some reassurance from you all, it's there!

I hope everyone gets what they are hoping for! This will be my 11th day of injectables, I have an u/s tomorrow morning, so we'll see. I am praying this works! Thanks again for your positive thoughts and feedback, it is truly helpful, and allows me to continue hoping!

Me!!! I rarely had 2 good follies. Got pregnant after IUI number 5, then m/c, then got pregnant with Ava on number 6. Both times with one good follie.
