Default Success Stories Needed!

Hello all-
Haven't been on in while.....what a rollercoaster ride, a BAD ride, this has been. I know in the world of IF I am a rookie, but this has been the most difficult situation life has presented me. I would like to hear any stories of success to help me maintain faith that this will happen for my DH and I.

ttc since 5/06
pcos diagnosed 11/06, not ovulating
clomid 50 mg + IUI 2/07 (1 mature follicle)- BFN
clomid 100 mg + IUI 3/07 (1 mature follicle)- BFN
clomid 100 mg-no follicles matured, cyst on ovary

Now- took bc for 16 days, began 10 units of Lupron for 10 days, then beginning gonal f + Lupron, will have another IUI.......

Have injectibles been successful for anyone out there? Please share your story.......This process is exhausting, emotionally, I know you can all relate, and that many of you have been living the "IF Life" for much longer than me, but I need a little encouragement....

I have never developed more than one follie on IF meds.....does gonal f produce more than clomid generally?

Thanks for you stories and good luck to all, I hope everyone sees their BFP soon!

I think you are headed on the right track. I was on the same protcol as you are on now...and I am pregnant with twins.

The BCP's will suppress your ovaries, the Lupron will suppress them even more, so hopefully you will have lots of follies growing at the same rate. On my cycle, I had 8 mature follies over 19mm the day of trigger. Gonal F definetly produces more follies than clomid, that is why the risk of multiples is a lot higher. Gonal F also doesn't have the yucky side effects of clomid. I was a miserable b&#ch with clomid.

I know it seems like this ride will never end...but it will and it will be worth it in the end! Keep us posted about your cycle...sounds very promising!

Thanks Jen and Tracy! It is so great to hear about those who are successful. I hope to end up like you both did. I will post more as I progress through this cycle. I am so anxious and ready to start. I have my baseline u/s on Tuesday, and will hopefully get the go ahead to begin the gonal f. Thank you for your encouraging stories! People, keep them coming!

Hello! I just wanted to tell you I did not respond well to Clomid, so we tried Femara. Switched RE's and on my first injectible cycle got pg. Unfortunately we lost our baby in Jan. I responded better on injectibles definately! They doubled my dose this last IUI and I had 7 follies total, with 3-4 mature follies. It did not work this time, but we had low sperm this count for the first time actually, so that may have been a contributing factor.

I think you will do well with the injectibles, as the other girls said. I am praying you get that bfp! IF is by far the worse thing I've ever been through. But you are not alone, I am having a very difficult time myself at the moment. It's been almost 5 yrs. now. So...I wish you luck, don't forget to do something nice for yourself every now and again, it helps!!

Oh and these ladies on the boards.....definately a huge support system for me! Nothing is too trivial..so when you need us, we're here!!

I started ttc 3 years ago. They say I have PCOS. I did 4 unsuccessful cycles of clomid and many cycles of follistim as well as a few other meds. With clonid I ovulated they think once. My first inj. cycle I got pregnant with 1 follie and mc'd. After the mc I kept getting too many follies. I started taking Metformin about the time I started the inj. But I'm not sure for how long. My first RE said that the only way I was going to get pregnant was through IVF. At this point I have tried IUI's but since I got too many follies she cancelled alot of my cycles. I switched RE's. I did a few inj. cycles with btb IUI's with my new "positive" RE. Then I had my Lap done and the doctor positive said there was nothing wrong with me. He said there is no reason why I can't have a baby. I decided to see if the metformin regulated my cycles. So dh and I decided we will try on our own for 6 months. My RE said many women get pregnant on their break cycles or right after the lap. So he said at the most try for 6 months and come back to see him if I wasn't pregnant.

Right after my lap. we bd'd when we wanted to. We didn't dtd on schedule just when the mood was right I didn't take my temp and didn't do opk's. One morning I woke up feeling like maybe I'm ovulating so I did an opk. It was positive. I was so happy. DH suggested try a pregnancy test. I did take one that night and poof it was a quick positive. To make a long story short I mc'd. My numbers weren't doubling. I skipped a cycle. I found out that my cycles were about 60 days. They said skip two cycles but I wasn't about to since my cycles were so long. I never ovulated on my own or had af on my own before. Even though the cycle was 60 days I was so happy to have something that resembled a cycle So I started taking my temp and doing opk's and sure enough I ovulated again on my own the next cycle. I tested 12 dpo and I got a possitive hpt. I'm now 5 months pregnant

Sorry for the long story. I just wanted you to know there is hope for you. sounds like your probalem is similar to mine. Have you tried metformin? I would suggest that every woman who has PCOS try met. It regulated me and I think it can help many women. I heard it takes 6 months to kick in.

Good luck,

Dani

oh I need to add one more thing. My RE said back in the day he used to have women skip a cycle to give their body a break. He said most women would get pregnant on the break cycle. If I could go back I would take a break. Now that I know what I know about my body.

Good luck,

Dani

Here's my story...I have endo I found out when I was 19 and had one lap. I have a three year old who was conceived naturally. This time around I used IUI. I took 20mg on day three and on days 5-9 I give myself injections of FSH in the tummy (ouch). I was on femara for a total of three months.
Guess what, it worked I am PG with TWINS. I am sooo very happy.
Have faith, you'll get your BFP soon.
