So AF started last Saturday night/early Sun morning..went to RE MOnday for CD 2 bloodwork and scan. They decided to go with Follistim this time..couldn't handle the s/e from clomid and my lining was getting so thin and i only had 2 VERY small follicles last cycle (one the cycle before). Anyway...they have me coming in every 2 days for blood and yesterday (CD 6) i had b/w and scan..my lining was a 9.1 and i already had three 11's and a 10 on my right and an 11 and 8 on my left. So i have to stay with the dosage i am on
(100 iu's) and go back for more B/W and scan on Sunday(between 8-9am and the only office they have open on Sunday is about an hour away)...whew this is hard work..lol
How is everyone else doing?????

I was on clomid this cycle and was wondering about asking to be put on follistim next cycle if this one is a bust. Just being curious as to what the cost of the follistim was if you don't mind me asking. I live in Pa and your in Jersey so i figured the prices might be close. Thanks a bunch...........

It was $519 for 600IU of Follistim from the RE's office and it was $1,319 for 2 boxes of the 600 Follistim and an Ovidrel from the specialty pharmacy. Luckily my insurance covers infertility, so although i have to put out the money up front i get in back...

I got 600IU and came out to $478 (slight discount for self-payers when insurance won't cover anything)
I had to go twice for u/s but they only took b/w the first time (but seems i responded a bit quick because by u/s #2 i was done w/ the meds and trigger for IUI that day

Can someone please tell me what a follistem is? I keep seeing this-is it to ensure the ovulation comes? Or is it just mega strong, more so than Clomid?
I was worried about taking Clomid, but thus far it has killed my appetite completely.

Had SA on 1/22/2008-found out low sperm count.
2/14/2008-SA analysis again-yep-count still sucked!
2/21/2008-appointment with urologist found varicocile
3/3/2008-Surgery for varicocile-Doctor found TWO varicociles and had the buggers removed.
DH on Clomid for the next 3 months
4/9/2008-DH's testosterone went from 303 to 827!!
June-DH's counts are to 23 million!!
IUI 7/9/08 count 9 mill post wash 7/19/08
7/22/08- BETA 50
7/24/08 BETA 116 8/14/08-First Ultrasound-baby measuring fine and heart beat perfect-RE Is thrilled with results! 8/28/2008-Ultrasound 2-little bean still looks perfect
It is strong than clomid from what i understand. Killed your appetite huh, well maybe it just shifted my way...lol If ya need it i'll surely send it back to ya...lol
