My question is...how soon is it okay to start testing past an IUI..I had heard 9DPIUI...but I am afraid that is too early...I don't want to get a flase positive with having used the hcg trigger shot this month..??? Any help is appreciated....And also, has anyone gotten pregnant with thier first IUI..? My dr. says it is uncommon on your first IUI....

I also had the HCG Shot on CD11 and am currently on 11/12/13dpiui (not sure when I ovulated did not record temp over these days - so i'm covering all possible days!!) and have just tested ++ using two different test types and 3 different tests over the last two days..so far the results were...

9/10/11dpiui - negative (so HCG Shot out of the system)- Boots (UK) (50mIU) first morning
10/11/12dpiui - Very faint ++ on a Boots (UK) own brand test (50mIU) using first morning
11/12/13dpiui - Faint/Med ++ Boots...50mIU first morning also tested late afternoon/evening strong ++ using a First Response Early test (upto 6 days before missed period).

Had a chat with my Fertility Clinic and even if a faint line appears...by day 10 it is considered a ++ outcome,as the HCG shot would be out of your system by 10dpiui.

This was my 2nd IUI, 1st after my HSG X-ray and 150iu meds. My first IUI was rushed and I don't think was timed correctly....pain etc during procedure and scan showed that the egg had "dissapeared"??

This time there was no discomfort during procedure, but mild cramping every day since (all 2 weeks!!) which I was worried about, but again Fertility Clinic said that was a good sign!! I am also on Cyclogest (inital 15 days) now have to take for another 30days until 7 week scan). Insomnia here I come!! LOL

I have never tested pos till after day 12. It is usually the day my clinics did blood work since the levels in your blood should be high enough to show up and it helps with let down if you wait instead, IMHO, trying early for several days and getting alot of BFNs.

Also it was my 2nd IUI that worked the 1st time that ended in M/C and try 3 last yr that got me my little prince. The try last yr was on where I thought that we had missed the window so I ordered my next set of meds and didnt even think about testing or getting pregnant was the one that worked so I go with the phrase if you are trying to hard you will stress your body out and could throw things out of whack that could keep it from working. again just my honest opinion.

Good luck and my best advice is relax, dont think about it and dont test till day 12.

Hello--- I actually did get pregnant on my very first IUI-- so, yes, it is possible.. I wouldnt make yourelf crazy by testing-- i will tell you why,
I was on the two week wait, and i was to test on a monday at the RE office, by the weekend before, it was killing me to test so i took at HPT-- and it came back negative, so i had a horrible weekend and was very upset and depressed most of day.. on Monday I went ahead and took the Blood test at my RE office, and already had it in my head that it was going to be negative since i already test that weekend.. and she called me Hours later with a BFP!!! my numbers were low at that time but i was pregnant.. and my numbers trippled and everything was going well, then I M/C at 5 weeks 4 days..

SO there is hope on your first IUI... so good luck and please dont stress yourself out, and wait the full 2ww...

that should have been I have tried not to POS before day 12. I have a very fussy baby in my arms and it is making it hard to type. sorry.

I don't know much about the trigger shot...but I got a +HPT at 10dpiui on our 1st IUI. I had never seen a second line before so I didn't believe it. 2 days later I tested again and sure enough...there it was!

It can depend a little what trigger you used

I had a faint line 10-11dpo and a BFN today so took a good while for the trigger to go away

Last cycle i tested a 7dpiui and it was negative..
I would wait a few days before testing..if you can..lol
