Post Your Success Stories Here!
Success stories give us hope & inspiration! Please encourage your fellow TTCer's with your success story. Here are some questions to get you started:
How long have you been ttc?
What IUI number was this for you?
What medications did you take, if any?
Were you on a different protocol before this?
What were your pregnancy symptoms?
What CD did you get your BFP?
Any Advice....or things you've learned?
Thanks and congratulations!

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
Here are just a few success stories copied from our old board.....
Posted by: Cat (theJelocat)
I can't believe I am finally posting in the success thread here it goes!
How long have you been ttc? This was cycle 16 (about 15 months)
What IUI number was this for you? This was injectible/IUI # 4
What medications did you take, if any? I did gonal F injectibles (2 amps per day) for 7 days cd 3 - 9 and had a HCG trigger on day 10 - then my IUI on day 12. I thought they triggered me too early because my Estradial was only at 759 when they triggered and my follies were only at 14ish on day 9's u/s.
Were you on a different protocol before this? Same protocol but earlier trigger - I did have a lap in August that removed stage 2 endo - I am convinced this led to our BFP
What were your pregnancy symptoms? Not many - I told my doc at my 5 dpo progesterone check that I did not O (but my progesterone was 46.2) My biggest sxs was a lack of sore boobs - normally in my injectible cycles my nipples would get extremely sore but this time nothing and they still don't hurt a bit! I did get very nauseous on the night of 13 dpiui - but I have horrible stomach and get nauseous all the time so I thought it was nothing. I have been having AF like cramps since 4 dpiui - but I always get those before AF
What CD did you get your BFP? 14 dpiui (cd 26)
Any Advice....or things you've learned? I am a new advocate for the lap - I really did not want to get the lap surgery because I had to HSG s and both showed clear tubes. My RE really insisted we do the lap before we move onto IVF and I am so glad we did! Sending baby dust to others.

Hi ladies i too am really happy to be able to post here
How long have you been ttc? 4 and a 1/2 yrs
What IUI number was this for you? #1
What medications did you take, if any? Clomid 50mg days 5-9
Were you on a different protocol before this? I too had difficulty getting a dr to take me seriously. Finally i found 1 who did!! All the others would just put me on clomid for a trial.
What were your pregnancy symptoms? Initially it was constant burping that made me think something was up!! So i tested early!! Now at 8weeks i have had sore bb's, nausea and vomiting and cramps occassionally.
What CD did you get your BFP? I took a hpt at 11dpiui and then had a beta to confirm.
Any Advice....or things you've learned? Trust your own instincts if something is not right then it's probably not. Find a dr/re that listens to you!! Don't hestitate to find a new one if that one isn't listening anymore!!

I think it's about time I share my IUI success story.
How long have you been ttc? We were TTC #1 for 13 months or 15 cy.
What IUI number was this for you? It was our second cy of IUI. We did b2b IUIs on cd 12 and 13, but I don't think I O'd until cd 14. We went based on the lh surge on an OPK rather than on an u/s (since IF wasn't covered by insurance).
What medications did you take, if any? None. We were doing IUI for low sperm count issues only.
Were you on a different protocol before this? No.
What were your pregnancy symptoms? AF-type cramping. I really expected her to show up! I think I also had sore bbs, but I have that every cy before AF shows.
What CD did you get your BFP? 14dpo. When my temp went up that morning, I knew it had to be *it*. Sure enough, the two lines showed up right away on the HPT.
Any Advice....or things you've learned? Educate yourself. Find out as much information as you can to help yourself make the best decisions. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Even though it can get very hard at times, try to remain positive.
Special thanks to all of the wonderful ladies on this board for their support. Good luck to you all.

How long have you been ttc? 1.5 years
What IUI number was this for you? Lucky number 1
What medications did you take, if any? Gonal F 150 iu, Ovidrel trigger shot
Were you on a different protocol before this? I tried Clomid without IUI but it didn't work
What were your pregnancy symptoms? none really - I did have some brown tissue spotting 11 dpiui, sick to my stomach a bit, but that was about it
What CD did you get your BFP? 12 dpiui
Any Advice....or things you've learned? My advice is educate yourself as much as possible, ask lots of questions and make sure you trust your doctor, if you don't get a NEW one. I think the right doctor makes all the difference. And don't ever give up - you have to beleive that one day things will go your way. I have learned too that every day is a precious gift from God.
Good luck to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally feel safe to post this!
How long have you been ttc?16 cycles
What IUI number was this for you? #2
What medications did you take, if any? clomid 50 mg CD3-7, progesterone from O to AF, HCG trigger
Were you on a different protocol before this?we tried clomid without HCG for 3 cycles before
What were your pregnancy symptoms?Very tired! I had incredible sore bbs starting 10dpo.
What CD did you get your BFP? 10dpo was very faint and beta was only 12! 2 days later the second line was much darker and beta was up to 50! one week later, beta was 1,200!
Any Advice....or things you've learned? Try, try again! This was our "last effort" before taking a major break! We gave it one more shot and then just tried to relax and get on with our lives...surprise!

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
How long have you been ttc? 3 1/2 years on and off with a few breaks to save some money and mentally re-group.
What IUI number was this for you? 3rd time was the charm!
What medications did you take, if any? 150 IU Gonal F for 8 days followed by the HCG trigger and progesterone support.
Were you on a different protocol before this? I had used Clomid and Follistim before, but this was the 1st cycle of Gonal F.
What were your pregnancy symptoms? 2 days of spotting at 10 dpiui that just stopped. AT about 5 weeks,5 days the exahaustion and nausea started in.
What CD did you get your BFP? at 13 dpiui...kind of took the test just to see why the spotting stopped...fully expected AF and a BFN.
Any Advice....or things you've learned? Don't give up. I TOTALLY had given up and had an appt with the RE to discuss the next steps. That app't turned into being my u/s instead. AT 9 weeks, 5 days, I am still shocked that IUI worked for me!! Best wishes!!

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
Okay I will give this a shot!
How long have you been ttc?
about 20-22 natural cycles and 3 medicated cycles
What IUI number was this for you? 1st IUI!
What medications did you take, if any?
Bravelle 150mg daily until HCG trigger. Progesterone supplements after O'ing
Were you on a different protocol before this?
Meds with timed bd
What were your pregnancy symptoms?
Hmm, I'm not sure. I was so anxious that it was hard to sort out. Plus the meds give a lot of pregnancy symptorms, like sore bbs. I think not seeing AF was the biggest since she always had shown up the day before I was supposed to test.
What CD did you get your BFP?
It was CD 28, or 14 DPIUI. I didn't test early.
Any Advice....or things you've learned?
Pay attention to your body. I realized while on the meds that I made crappy CM and that maybe going to IUI would help.
I also took a course/support group for women dealing with TTCing during the last 2 cycles. I learned to relax and also was able to ban a lot of my usual negative thoughts (like this will never work). I don't know if it helped but I definately felt better.
 to all!
Jilda
Thanks and congratulations!

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
How long have you been ttc?
Approx 5 years
What IUI number was this for you?
IUI# 2, DH count was 15 mil
What medications did you take, if any?
Glucophage 2000mg/day ( I have PCOS), clomid 100mg days 5-9
What were your pregnancy symptoms?
Very sore BB's and extreme fatigue and hunger.
What CD did you get your BFP?
CD 38
Any Advice....or things you've learned?
I really think that stress is a really important factor when TTC.
After almost 5 years of TTC I was able to take a 2 month sabbatical from work and Bingo! Also, after each cycle of thinking I was PG and looking for symptoms, I realized that when it does happen you definately know.
So hang in there it will happen.
Our twins (boy/girl) are due on Feb 15, 05.

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
How long have you been ttc? 11 months
What IUI number was this for you? 1st
What medications did you take, if any? Clomid 50 mg 5-9 for LP defect
Were you on a different protocol before this? Never did IUI but this was my 4th month on clomid
What were your pregnancy symptoms? NONE REALLY!! At 13 DPO I started to get this tight feeling like I did too many sit ups. My temp did go triphasic at around 7 or 8
http://www2.fertilityfriend.com/home/3f1ad
What CD did you get your BFP? 14 DPO
Any Advice....or things you've learned? Take part in your treatment I told the doctor I am ready to get pregnant what is our next opinion he recommended the IUI because their were some dead sperm in my CM and I said "Well lets do it this month then" He said sure!!! And research research read anything you can get your hands on!! Good luck and baby dust to all!!!

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
How long have you been ttc? IT was 8 years in March
What IUI number was this for you? 3rd recently but 4th overall
What medications did you take, if any? Gonal-F and the trigger shot plus we used a sperm donor.
Were you on a different protocol before this? I've been on so many We tried a zillion different doses of Clomid and metoformin to no avail.
What were your pregnancy symptoms? Unfortunately I had OHSS so I didn't get to decipher pg symptoms. 10 days in the hospital and plenty of Beta's were my clue
What CD did you get your BFP? 14 dpo I got something light. 16 dpo was a bit darker.
Any Advice....or things you've learned? DONT give up. Take as many breaks as you think you need it's exhausting and stay informed. Thats perhaps the most important. Don't just take everything your Dr says at face value. Read, READ , READ educate yourself and question everything that doesn't feel right. This is your body and your baby.
God you don't know how happy I am to finally post a success story!!!!!

What were your pregnancy symptoms?AF like cramping around 9 dpo, gas and hunger
What CD did you get your BFP?10 DPO first hpt, 13 dpo beta confirmed

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
How long have you been ttc? 1 1/2 years
What IUI number was this for you? 4
What medications did you take, if any? follistim pen .25 (not very much at all)
Were you on a different protocol before this? I tried clomid 3 months and didn't work
What were your pregnancy symptoms?AF like cramping around 10 dpo, heartburn, and a feeling like something was just different
What CD did you get your BFP?10 DPO, and took 5 after that just to be sure.
Any Advice....or things you've learned? Just need to relax. Each time I had an IUI, we would get our hopes up so high and then be disappointed. We said the 4th try would be our last before IVF. We went into the 4th IUI thinking "well this is it and then maybe IVF would be the ticket for us". We didn't expect to get a BFP that cycle so I didn't even really think about it until AF was due. So, maybe the fact that we weren't obsessing over it each day did the trick. All I could think about was how much IVF was going to cost. Also, hang in there - your time is coming!

Age 42, Size 20
How long have you been ttc? Two months
What IUI number was this for you? 1st IUI!
What medications did you take?
Gonal F, Cetrotide, Repronex, Ovidrel, Progesterone lozenges
What were your pregnancy symptoms?None. Not one single symptom.
What CD did you get your BFP?
NO BFP...infact I took the HPT the morning of the Beta (16 days post Trigger) and it was negative- and it was WRONG! The Beta was actually 81.
Any Advice....or things you've learned?
Do not ever give up. Keep praying and stay optimistic untill you have an absolute reason (bad Beta or AF) to stop. The HPT was WRONG. There are also many people on this site giving bad advice. When you have a question. Call your RE or RE Nurse.

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
We're just hitting 9wks, so I think I'm safe to post this....
How long have you been ttc? We started trying October 2002.
What IUI number was this for you? We did IUIs in 2004 and then went to IVF. Jan 2005 I had a lap and tubal adheasions were found and snipped to free my tubes. I was then told that IUI was the way to go. It worked, I think it was our 3rd or 4th attempt.
What medications did you take, if any? CD5 start GonalF 225iu 1x a day, CD11 bumped to 300iu, CD13 bumped to 400iu - I am normally a good stimmer, but for some reason, my ovaries were racing eachother every other day. It took a while to get mature ones.
Were you on a different protocol before this? For the IVFs, yes. For my IUIs, pretty much the same but I stimmed better prior to this attempt.
What were your pregnancy symptoms? A week or so after the IUI, I had a couple of waves of nausea and then later, I noticed that I had the roadmapped bbs, fuller bbs and lots of bloat. Peeing often and I was hungry every two hours - this changed later to a lack of appetite.
What CD did you get your BFP? 10, 11, 12 and 13dpo/iui I POAS and got positives each time. Later, I went for my betas and they were - BETA 1 15dpIUI/O = 331, BETA 2 17dpIUI/O = 730, BETA 3 22dpIUI/O = 6,584
Any Advice....or things you've learned? I know it's hard, but try to take some extra time for you and DH. It's such a hard thing to go through, but you really do need eachother. Have date nights and don't let infertility be the topic of every conversation. Easier said than done, I know. I admit that we became obsessed with it. After IVF2 with a lap, we had a chemical pregnancy which resulted in me booking a getaway for us. We went on vacation to Punta Cana and had a wonderful time. It did us good because our next attempt worked!
I did some extra things this time because I figured that it couldn't hurt. I took flaxseed oil (and still am), baby aspirin, B6, extra Folic, prenates and I drank grapefruit juice pre O/IUI (my RE office said I had great mucus, too!) and after O/IUI I drank a glass of pineapple juice each day.
Best of luck to all of you and I hope to see more 's soon!

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
How long have you been ttc? We had been trying for 2+
What IUI number was this for you? This was our 6th IUI 4 rounds of clomid and 2 inj./follistim 75
Were you on a different protocol before this? I had been going for accupuncture for a month before..I had stopped about 3 weeks before. I had been on a special diet ..a lot of cooked vegtables, brown rice, salads to improve my digestive and reproductive system. I also had this crazy little MOXI stick that I would light...From day one of my cycle until ovulation ..I would light the stick and when it became warm ...you place the stick about 3 inches over your ovaries and in a circular motion warm the area..for about ten or 15 minutes ( now I'll have to tell you..I had never done anything like this before..my husband thought I was losing my mind..I did too..I couldn't believe the lenghts I would go to to get PG. ) Well....each time we had tried IUI I had an excellent response however..most of my follicles would be on 1 side...2 or 3 on either the right or the left...This time I had only 1 perfect follicle on each ........
What were your pregnancy symptoms? None really..I actually began to spot about 11 dpIUI.I thought I started early....I went in for a day 1 baseline ..they told me I had too many left over follicles to begin a new cycle...also I did a HPT at home and it was negative...I continued to spot for about 3 days...and for the heck of it..I took another HPT and it was faint....Positive!!!!
What CD did you get your BFP? 15dpIUI
Any Advice....or things you've learned? I honestly thought the IUI procedure would NEVER work for us...don't be afraid to try accupunture or something that seems like it would never benefit!!!! I wish you all the best and as always I will keep you in my prayers...it is a long road and only those who have traveled it truly understand what you ar feeling..

Re: Post Your Success Stories Here!
ok here goes....I am nervous about posting this yet
How long have you been ttc? 2&1/2 years......8 months of that with fertility meds
What IUI number was this for you? 2nd IUI
What medications did you take, if any? 100 mg BRAND name clomid CD3-7 75 iu's Gonal F on CD 6&8 and Ovidrel trigger
Were you on a different protocol before this? Clomid without IUI
What were your pregnancy symptoms? non - I usually start cramping anywhere from a week to days before starting AF and realized that I never started cramping this time. I was really exhausted the weekend prior to BFP but thought it was because we did a lot for July 4th.
What CD did you get your BFP? 14DPO in the evening
Any Advice....or things you've learned? Try to relax...it is very hard to do. I was resigned to the fact that we would fail this cycle as well - go on to have the Lap and that they would find something wrong.
