Ok ladies. I need your help.

Like many others, I have been "lurking" around the message boards, never really posting, but just reading. I get all my advice from AKAMSPRIS (my good friend Nicole). Anyway, some of you might know my story from a few posts Nicole has written about me. I'm her "PCOS friend". I just wanted to know from any of you ladies with PCOS, if you had any luck getting pregnant with a medicated timed intercourse cycle. I have a feeling I am gonna have to get to IUI but of course $ is an issue. So I was just curious what my outlook is. I hopefully will be doing a cycle this month. Tomorrow should be my Day 1 full flow day. We are doing TI this month but if it doesn't work then I think we are doing IUI the next cycle. I have also decided to go back on the metformin becauses I read how much it helped a lot of you with PCOS. Sorry for the long winded message. I would appreciate any feedback!

I was diagnosed w/ "PCOS tendencies" which I had never heard of, but apparently my body goes into pcos mode b/c of hypothalamic amenorrhea. My brain doesn't regulate hormones properly due to an eating disorder I had even before puberty. I didn't get treated w/ metformin or any other pcos medication, instead I had to gain 15-20 lbs and be treated w/ IUI/Femara/Menopur/Ovidrel/baby aspirin/progesterone supps. I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but my cousin and his wife tried for 5 yrs gave up, they couldn't afford IUI, but her dr. did put her on Metformin. Just to help w/ her pcos. They just gave birth to a daughter in January, a natural bfp in which the medication is responsible. It regulated things just so and she got pg w/o trying. So maybe this will work for you! If it doesn't IUI would be a good idea, I know it's expensive, but well worth it IMO. We had to do one, then save, do another then save, etc.

Welcome Nicci! Well I was diagnosed with PCOS, and I'm a BIG Metformin fan

I was taking 500mg 3xd (so 1500mg) and got pg on a break cy, but it was a break just from IUI and the other RX not metformin

Oh! And I started lowering the dosage when got the BFP, and just really stop it after 12w

Hope you get your BFP soon!

Hello, Nicci! I don't have PCOS but my RLBF does and they uses metformin and after 1 month of timed intercourse BAM little Broden was on his way! Good luck to you!
