Hi all I’m new to the site. I have some questions, I had my IUI done on 8/1, and on the 8/3 I found out I had OHSS (ovarian hyper stimulation) from the injections I had been taking. I had to stay in hospital over night, and 7days later, I’m still in loads of pain!!

Has any one had OHSS or knows anything about it? Do you know if it will ruin my chances for this cycle? I'm not due to test till 8/15...

I had OHSS twice while I was doing injectible/IUI cycles. I know several other ladies on this board have had it too so maybe they'll be along soon.

I don't believe it hurts your chances of conceiving. The 2nd time I had it was my BFP cycle. My RE's office always had me weigh myself several times a day, measure my waist daily, and urine output. I know they always told me that if you were pregnant it would make the symptoms last longer and become worse b/c as the HCG increases the ovaries remain swollen and the fluid remains.

I had it the cycle I got pregnant with my Son, I was initially pregnant with Twins but lost one. It shouldn't ruin your chances. I was actually told it gets worse if you do conceive which in my case was true. I hyperstimmed and started to feel a lot better and then it got much worse. I was extremely bloated, gained 10lbs of fluid in a week, had shortness of breath, had to sleep on an incline and had many cysts burst on my ovaries, as well as went in for an IV twice. It seems they caught yours very early which is good. Keep us posted and Good Luck!

I was also told that it is usually a good sign if it gets worse. It probably means you are pg. I had it too when I got pg the first time. It was so bad I had to do heprin injections my first tri, but that was also b/c I had gotten pg with quite a few. Good luck, I hope this is a good thing for you!
