Hello all,

I hope you don't mind that I'm posting here, I usually post over on the cycle buddies board. A little backgorund here is that DH and I have "unexplained infertility" our first consultation with the RE was last Friday and he was anxious to get started. So.... RE thought we made excellent candidates for IUI. This is our first cycle and I have to say that I am excited about it. I know that the chances are I won't get lucky on my 1st try, but I'm staying optimistic. Any advice anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated. Here is what I know I'm suppose to go through so far:

CD 3-7 50mg clomid
CD 8-11 gonal F injections (not looking forward to this)
CD 12 ultrasound and hopefully HCG trigger
CD 13 IUI
CD 14 IUI
CD 19 another ultrasound and maybe another 1/2 dose of HCG

This may seem strange but I took my first clomid pill this afternoon and I swear I can already feel it working on my right ovary. Must be my mind playing cruel tricks on me very early in this cycle!

Welcome aboard! Try to stay optomistic, alot of families have beginners luck! We conceived our DD on our 1st iui! This round however, we are 3 rounds in and after a 6 month break, we are trying a new RE!

This board was an excellent support last summer while we were doinf iui's and since everyone has a differant reason for being here, we all have a little expertise of our own.

BTW....I always feel a little "twinge" the 1st day of clomid too!

I don't think your mind is playing tricks. I usually feel a bit crampy on one side of the other the first day I take it too. Welcome to the board!

Just wanted to pop in and say hello and welcome!!!!

I just did pretty much that sme protocol!!!!! Do not be surprized if you have to do a few more days on the gonal f thatn expected....My first cycle on gonal f I had to stim for almost 2 weeks this time not soo long but longer than re expected.....Could just be me....but just wanted to let you know not to worry if it happens....I got preggers with DS on the gonal f and I am going to POAS Wed to see if this time worked!!! Thanks Ladies, oh and Ms Pris I hope I don't go too much longer on the gonal f because DH will be leaving town on business that Wednesday which means this cycle could be a bust. I hope it all works out!

Hello and welcome! I'm wishing you tons of babydust for your first IUI! The ladies on here are wonderful, as you soon will find out. No question is too silly, and venting is allowed. IF is such a roller coaster ride, but the support you will find on here is very helpful. Good luck and remember: Be kind to yourself, that's a very important thing when riding this ride!

Ok, question.....should I be concerned that I'm not feeling any of the side effects of the clomid. Initially I didn't want them, but now I feel like maybe they aren't working properly because I'm not feeling anything. Maybe I'm speaking too soon as I still have 2 pills left. I know everyone is different but so many people seem to experience the side effects.

Really the only side effect that I felt was the initial twinge that I said before. The hormonal moodiness was greater with each cycle but I never noticed that.....my mother did!
